Awesome Day! (and a long update...)

Well, today was the Big Day. It was Judgement Day. The day my parents decide whether or not Travis can come back over to my house. Needless to say, I was a wreck.

My parents had gotten into a fight last night about how I don't help out much around the house, and how I need to take some responsibility. My dad came in, knocking on my door at 9 o' clock this morning and told me to "get my lazy butt out of bed and help my mother with the house." (This, I don't think, wasn't an unreasonable request...although the deliverance could have been improved.) So I got (my lazy butt) out of bed and helped with the house. Not five minutes later, I hear my parents screaming at each other in the living room about how the house is a mess, and whose fault that was. My dad was so irate this morning that he actually took off. He didn't come back until one o' clock this afternoon.

I was on pins and needles throughout the whole day. The blow-up between my parents was the worst I had ever seen it, and I was scared to death that they were going to do or say something that would make Travis decide that he didn't want to be my friend anymore. I was even close to deciding that I should call him up and beg him not to come down. *This was insanity talking, though* So when four o' clock finally came rolling around, I was ready to break down into tears and just start bawling like a baby right in the middle of H-E-B, where I was supposed to pick him up. (I didn't though. As a matter of fact, I was smiling broadly and chatting away like a cheerleader.)

My parents had made up by then, which was a good sign. When I brought him back to my house, they seemed to like him. He talked to my dad about mechanics, and talked to my mom about cooking. As we were leaving, Mom was happy to announce to me that she approved of Travis (YAY!), and that she would love to see more of him.

We went to the concert at Common Ground. The music wasn't all that great, and it was cold out, so we headed over to Applebee's for dinner instead. We had a nice little chat about various types of meat and the taste of lemon (don't ask), and then we decided we would go home and watch a Christmas movie before I had to take him back to his car.

So, it was a nice day. I love having him around. He is such a great guy, and I am so lucky that he is such a good friend to me. I'm glad that my parents like him so much (and I think his parents might like me too...I hope so). He liked the Christmas present that I got him, which also made me happy.

It was just a great day! I am just bursting with sunshine and roses right now. I don't know how I will ever sleep tonight!

JAZZY
