Summary: Sungmin loved the forest more than anything in the whole world. However, on one day, he has an dangerous encounter in the forest he loves so much, but when this encounter actually happens again in his school and in a form of a human, Sungmin is forced to join a world, which he had no idea even existed.'
When a guardian experiences highly erotic and sexually stimulating dreams on more than one occasion during one night, it’s the most common sign that heat will start soon. The function of the dreams is to encourage the wolf-guardian pair to exchange bacteria as soon as possible, so that the heat won’t have time to settle in, gaining the attention of possible rival wolves.
Heat can be interpreted as….
Sungmin closed the book with a loud bang and threw it to the growing pile of books he had read by now, coming across the same sentences again and again: Heat is coming. Have sex. Deal with it. The male rubbed his forehead, frustration written all over his every action and finally he let his head drop to rest on his arms and closed his eyes for a moment. He had never missed sleep as much as he did at the moment. His every cell was screaming to fall asleep, but something was stopping the man from letting himself relax and give himself to the sleep nagging at his subconscious.
A fleeting touch on the curve of his back and his breath escaped in a silent moan for more. The toned man above him pressed his fingers intently to his back and started to move it downwards. Sungmin closed his eyes and felt how his toes curled at the spike of need. He opened his eyes.
“More.” He breathed out and lifted his arms to grasp Hankyung’s neck. “More.”
The man opened his eyes, gritting his teeth together, trying to ignore the blush which was steadily forming on his cheeks and let out a huge sigh. At least he had stayed relatively safe when he was awake, but apparently that happiness wouldn’t last long at this rate. The male stood up and collected the books from the table to put them to their rightful places in the shelf behind him. He might as well do something useful while Hankyung was still on his hunting trip.
“Nari! NAAAARIIII…..!” Sungmin turned his head to glare at the source of the terrible yelling and grit his teeth when the man emerging from behind the shelves seemed to ignore him completely and just continued to call out. “NAAARII! DOG! COME HERE, I FOUND THE RIGHT BOOK. BIIIIIITCH! NO FOOD TODAY IF YOU WON’T COME!” the man crossed his arms and smiled knowingly when sudden rasping-sound came from somewhere behind the shelves and Sungmin’s eyes widened in shock when a horrifying growl resounded in the library, echoing from the high walls. Sungmin turned to look at the male in horror, but frowned when even wider smirk appeared on his face. Sungmin’s eyes flashed to look to the direction where the man was looking, and gasped a short breath when he saw the wolf jogging towards the man.
This wolf was a lot smaller than Hankyung and a lot more graceful in its movements. The beautiful grey pelt shone in the sunlight pouring through the windows, like ash. The wolf started to run and while Sungmin stared in horror, the animal jumped a huge jump from at least five meters away from the man and with a huge thump, both of them landed on the floor, and the man started to laugh like a maniac when the wolf began to lick his face, neck and every place he could find.
Sungmin couldn’t do anything else but stare. It was clear that this wolf was a female, if the lithe frame and (not that he had checked it) lack of balls was anything to go by, so it would be completely reasonable to assume that this man was her guardian.
A male guardian. A female wolf. Possible but unlikely.
A straight man.
“Nari! NARI!” The licking continued and in between laughing the man managed to push the wolf a bit further away from himself.”Okay! OKAY! YOU’LL GET FOOD AND YOU’RE NOT A BITCH!” With that the wolf’s limbs started to grow, ears shrunk back to attach to both sides of the skull and the muzzle flattened to become a human nose. Soon there was a lithe female figure sitting on the man’s lap.
“Stupid Shindong. You were supposed to come and find me.” the girl pouted and the man named Shindong let out a laugh.
“I’d never find you anyway, so the best way to find you is to aggravate you enough to make you come out.” the man chuckled and the girl smiled widely.
“Let me see the book!” Nari jumped up and down excitedly on Shindong’s lap and the man rolled his eyes.
“Be glad that Kyuhyun isn’t lurking in the corners, he’d kill us for being so noisy.” the pair rose from the floor and walked to the more secluded corner of the library and without even thinking through his actions properly, Sungmin followed them, staying close enough to listen, but never showing himself openly. His eyes followed the pair intently, curiosity burning inside him like a small kitsune.
“`The physiology of female wolves and rare diseases` Whoa, you sure found the weirdest book ever.” Nari said with an amused tone and opened the thick book with slender fingers. Silence fell between the pair and Sungmin continued to observe them. He had to smile a bit when he saw how Nari’s ears hadn’t transformed fully to their human shape, and instead they were the fluffy ears of a wolf.
Hankyung’s pelt was so dark that you couldn’t recognize where hair ends and the furry ear starts, whereas Nari’s ash-y fur was to be easly recognized from among the dark, sleek hair. Sungmin had to smile a bit when Shindong petted the ears with relaxed demeanor and Nari leaned to him slightly, pecking a small kiss to his cheek. Sungmin clenched his hand to fists, looking at the pair with adoring, yet pained eyes.
If he wouldn’t have came with Hankyung, would everything be different? Would he actually have been like Shindong and Nari, so happy and comfortable together with a girl he had always wanted? Would he be at the S-highschool, on this precise moment, doing something silly with Donghae and the mystery girl? Sungmin blanched at the thought of Donghae and bit his lip in frustration.
Wasn’t it so that the reason for coming here was because of Donghae? Because Donghae was all he had? His parents didn’t give a flying fuck about where he was and what he did as long as nothing bad would reach their ears. He was completely alone, only Donghae as his company.
Then suddenly there was Hankyung. With all the freaky wolf-things, talk about guardians, responsibilities and partnership. And Sungmin had came here because it was the only option aside from being left completely alone.
And in the end he had ended up in a mess whole lot bigger than he originally thought. He had ended up in a mess, where he was left pondering with erotic dreams about another man, his sexuality, the whole prospect of Hankyung and a goddamn HEAT.
“Why isn’t it possible! It’s only a matter of changing my structure a little bit, nothing more, nothing less!!! I want to do this, Shindong!” Nari’s pained voice reached Sungmin’s ears and the man focused on the pair again, but frowned when he sensed the tense air between them.
“Nari, be reasonable. I’m not going to risk your life by impregnating you and by operating on you afterwards! I’d rather die than not have you by my side! I thought that the book made it clear to you that it’s not POSSIBLE!”Shindong bellowed and Nari looked at her guardian, eyes glistening with tears.
“But it says that even though it’s extremely hard, it’s POSSIBLE! Please Shindong, could you please even…”
“Seriously Nari LISTEN TO YOURSELF! You’re willing to sacrifice your life for a baby which might not even survive from inside you before you’d keel over! I didn’t bring you that book to give you more hope, I gave that book to you to MAKE YOU SEE IT’S NOT POSSIBLE!” Shindong yelled to Nari’s face and Sungmin didn’t dare to even breath in the silence which ensued in the dark section. Finally the female wolf stood up, breathing heavily through her tears.
“Fine.” With that she stomped away from the section, giving Sungmin a mere moment to fall back and hide behind the shelf. When the female had passed him, Sungmin let out a small breath and after a while he sneaked back to his original position to look at Shindong who had buried his face to his hands, looking a lot older than he had seemed minutes ago.
Sungmin had to know. He had to know what his chances were.
The man walked from behind the shelf and cautiously took a seat beside the taller man and cleared his throat carefully, gaining one annoyed look from the man.
“Go away, you come at a really bad time.” Sungmin shuffled a bit before extending his hand in front of Shindong.
“Lee Sungmin. Nice to meet you.”
The look he earned was annoyed, disbelieving and impressed at the same time. Sungmin sat there, his hand dangling in the air for a long time before Shindong sighed exasperatedly and extended his own hand.
“Shin Donghae, but you can call me Shindong, makes everything a lot easier.” He said with a small smile and Sungmin smiled back and they shook hands. A silence fell back between them and Shindong let his head fall back to rest on his palms. Sungmin tried to find the right words but he couldn’t seem to find the courage to say what he wanted to actually ask. Finally it was Shindong who broke the silence.
“Is there some kind of reason for the spontaneous introduction?” the man asked with a weary tone and Sungmin turned to look at the older man, contemplating on what he was doing before the words accidentally slipped from between his lips.
“Diyouevconsmalolfsourpartner?”
Sungmin mentally facepalmed and awkwardly scratched his neck when Shindong turned to look at him with a bewildered expression on his face. The flustered man gulped and took in a slow breath before speaking again.
“N-not to be rude or anything, but…Did-did you ever consider a male wolf as your partner?” Sungmin asked with an even tone after a long while and Shindong lifted his eyebrows.
“I guess you saw Nari? We didn’t break up or anything if you’re suggesting that….” Shindong’s tone went from surprised to horrified in mere seconds and Sungmin waved his arms in denial.
“Nononononoononononono! I’m also a guardian! Sungmin said with a horrified tone and turned his head to show the mark on his neck to Shindong who frowned at the red colour.
“Why is it red?” He asked bewilderedly and Sungmin shrugged.
“The bacteria is funny, and there kind of happened something weird so the mark is red now.” Sungmin let out a small sigh. “But answer my question. Did you ever consider it?” Sungmin asked, changing subject and Shindong’s expression turned doubtful.
“Are you thinking that I’d change wolves with you?” Sungmin’s eyes widened at that and almost let out a laugh.
“Sorry, I couldn’t do that kind of thing to you. You have no idea what kind of nightmare you’d be taking.” Sungmin said with an exasperated tone and Shingdong’s expression turned knowing in a mere second.
“But still you like him?” He asked and Sungmin frowned.
“N-No, I don’t? What makes you think that?” He asked with bewildered tone and Shindong lifted his eyebrow.
“Didn’t you know that the mark appears on guardian only when the wolf-guardian pair are in a so-called “sync” with each other?” Sungmin fell silent when Kyuhyun’s words from oh-so-long-ago floated to his ears
“Did you know that if the attraction between a wolf and a human isn’t reciprocated, the mark given to the human won’t get the shape of a wolf?”
“That’s not true.” Sungmin said with a terse tone, subconsciously covering the mark on his neck with his hand. “There is another reason for this.” Shindong looked at the other male for a while and Sungmin’s eyes widened when the older man suddenly erupted in enormous fit of laughter.
Sungmin stared at Shindong for a good while, and just when he was about to get pissy about it, the taller man calmed down enough to look at Sungmin from behind his bangs, streams of tears still falling on his cheeks from his laughter.
“Oh my god, there are actually people like you!” the man said with a strained tone and started to hiccup with laughter once again. Sungmin grit his teeth together, annoyance hitting him with full force.
“People like what, exactly?!” Sungmin growled and Shindong smirked.
“The people in denial. The people who seek it, who want it, who would have it if they’d not be so damn anal about it.” Shindong said with a conversational tone and Sungmin’s face went white from horror.
“I’m NOT in denial. How many times do I have to repeat it to different people, I’m. not. in. denial!” The male whispered from between his lips and Shindong looked at him with a mildly amused expression.
“Dude, you have the mark. You’re a guardian, and by the looks of it, you’re also hítting heat soon, so I guess you’d better start wooing your wolf into taking you during your heat, otherwise you’re gonna be soooooooo screwed by other wolves around here who seek to have some of that virgin ass.”Shindong smirked when he saw the outrage flash across Sungmin’s face.
“How-?! Why-!?"
“Don’t worry, my skin looks that peachy also when I’m about hit it.”
Sungmin almost felt the vein pop in his head but then he realized something.
This guy could actually help him. It’s no use to give up the only asset he had. With a huge amount of self -restraint Sungmin calmed himself down and buried all the needs to hit something and sat down on the chair properly, rubbing his forehead. Shindong looked at him expectantly and Sungmin huffed.
“Okay,so maybe I’m in denial. Maybe I’m about to hit heat. Maybe I’m kind of stressed because I have no idea what I should DO!” Sungmin exclaimed with a frustrated tone and Shindong smirked.
“Well you have to start by the wooing. The wooing is the best part and your wolf is the first one who can smell that you’re about to hit heat. He’ll see it from you and it only takes your initiative to make him drool all over your bed sheets.”Shindong said with a conversational tone and Sungmin’s eyes widened.
“He can SMELL IT?! Oh dear sweet Christ I’m so fucked.” Sungmin buried his head in his hands and Shindong shrugged.
“That you are, but I don’t really see the problem. If you’re in denial, then just get over it.” Sungmin lifted his eyes from his arms and stared at Shindong dully.
“I have been straight all my life before I came here. Now that I’m finally starting to open up slightly about my sexuality, I’m supposed to jump right to someone’s BED and I’m supposed to have OH-SO-HOT-AND-SWEET-GAY-SEX with him…! I have no idea how that works and whether it’ll feel just wrong and…”
“Oh my god, I’m actually talking to a virgin.”
“SHUT UP!” Sungmin yelled and Shindong let out a booming laugh. The younger man grit his teeth together in frustration. “I have had sex with women before! It’s just the part where Hankyung and his ….manly…features…. come in.” Sungmin said with a lowered voice and Shindong lifted his eyebrows. After a long while of inspecting the fidgeting man before him, he let out a resounding sigh, all traces of amusement lost.
“Look, I know Hankyung. I have known him for a long while now, and I know, that he would never do anything you didn’t want to do. He’ll listen to you and your problems anytime. The mechanics of sex aren’t the problem with you.” Sungmin was about to open his mouth to say something but Shindong lifted his hand to silence him. “the real problem lies in the fact, whether you can treat the sex as what it is. Sex. Intercourse. Way to exchange bacteria. It’s just a clinical operation, just like when you get your prostate checked at the school nurse.” Shindong flailed his arms around and Sungmin averted his gaze, gritting his teeth once again.
“It’s not that simple, it can never be just…”
“Why not? It becomes something more personal when you make it more personal.” Shindong said with a bored tone and silenced the younger man again by lifting his hand. “It becomes personal only if you have been raped in the past or that you have feelings for the person you’re having sex with.”
Sungmin gaped.
“Of course I haven’t been raped and there’s no way in HELL I’d have feelings towards-“
“You sure?”
Sungmin fell silent, his expression utterly dumbstruck. Shindong looked at the shocked man before him for a while before sighing heavily.
“Look, you need to start looking at things in a more emotional way. Is the gay sex the “real” problem here or are you just trying to cover up your own emotional fears and insecurities by it?” Shindong asked, leaning back in his chair, appearing to be quite comfortable while Sungmin was as stiff as a plank in his chair. After a moment of silence the younger man huffed and crossed his arms across his chest.
“I can’t believe that I actually came to ask your experiences because you’re one of the only straight guardian in the whole school and instead I’m left pondering about whether I have emotional problems or not. Awesome.” Sungmin growled under his breath and Shindong smirked.
“Oh you do, as the whole school speaks of Hankyung as the sex god of all times, and you’re still unsure about whether to have sex with him or not.” Shindong rolled his eyes and Sungmin’s eyes widened. The older man noticed the expression and let out a small laugh. “It was a joke, Sungmin, a joke.” the younger man relaxed noticeably and huffed out an annoyed breath before rubbing his eyes, eyebrows scrunched up together.
“Shit. Everything I read from the books indicates that from these symptoms I have had so far, the heat will take only three or four days to start.” Sungmin muttered to his hands and Shindong cast him a look.
“Well, you might use my advice and actually start to sort out what you’re planning to do now.” Shindong leaned forward to lean his elbows on the table and looked at Sungmin. “You need to sort out whether you can treat it as just sex and nothing else.” Sungmin gulped and looked at his hands, trying to calm his erratic breathing so that he could think clearly.
Four days. 96 hours. 5760 minutes. 345 600 seconds.
Such a short time interval.
Hankyung wouldn’t be coming back from his hunting trip until the next day, and then he’d take care of some of the paper-thingies he had been postponing since forever which were due soon. That would buy Sungmin barely two days to plan his way through the whole thing.
Whole thing. Meaning the wooing, the sex and the whole process of forgetting everything that had happened. Very easy, very simple. Woo, fuck and forget. That was the code, the key he was to follow.
He was so screwed. Quite literally actually and he hated every picture that started to float in his mind from that one simple word.
“I have to get going and check whether Nari would be willing to talk to me by now.” Shindong’s sudden exclamation dragged Sungmin out of his own thoughts and he looked at Shindong.
“Do you need any help?” Sungmin asked tentatively, not daring to admit that he had eavesdropped their earlier fighting from behind the bookshelves. Shindong just smiled at Sungmin with a lopsided grin and rubbed the back of his head awkwardly.
“Nah, we’ve had this fight with her many times before. She wants to have cubs, I refuse because that pregnancy would be the first and last she would go through yadayadayada…Seriously, we have had this same conversation with her so many times, that it has become a sort of a routine.” Shindong shrugged and Sungmin bit his lip, looking at the older man awkwardly.
“Umm…is it just in her case that the pregnancy would be fatal or…”Shindong turned to look at the younger man.
‘”She’s a female wolf and cubs don’t come in question because of that. The embryo gets confused because she has the normal genes for wolves in her, but she’s in a human body. That’s why the embryos divide so many times, that there are about eight or nine of the cubs in total and the human body can’t handle it and naturally, it will lead to the carrier’s death.”Shindong said with a nonchalant wave of his hand “If she was a human and I was the wolf, the thing would be completely different, as the embryo would recognize the limits in the carrier and divide only so much that the human body can handle it.” Sungmin gaped at the older man and gulped.
“But there must have been cases where they have been able to pull it off, so-“
“They did it in a surgery where the womb was opened and half of the cubs were removed. From the all 109 cases only two have been successful, in all the other cases the wolves have died or lost their womb totally. Only four cubs have been brought up this way.” Shindong said with a dull tone and Sungmin gulped.
Maybe it was the best if he didn’t have female as his wolf. Now he totally understood the reasoning behind the total gayness which prevailed in the M-highschool.
“Are the cubs somewhat different from the usual wolves? Why do the guardian-wolf pairs even try to have them even though they know it’s risky?” Sungmin asked with an incredulous tone and Shindong cast him a look. After a long while of utter silence between them Sungmin finally realized the oppressive athmosphere between them.
“They don’t do it for the reason, that they’d get some freaky-ass cubs. They do it because they love each other and want to truly show it.” Shindong answered with dead tone and Sungmin scratched his head awkwardly.
“…Freaky-ass cubs?” the man asked with a tentative voice and Shindong huffed.
“They are like normal wolves around here: capable of changing forms between human and wolf, but unfortunately their characteristics are leaned more towards the wolves. They are more impulsive, rash and I’m not entirely sure, but there are legends that they can command the normal wolves in the forests. They are like alfa wolves among the normal wolves and that’s most likely why the four rumored pure-breeds have disappeared.” Shindong said with a nonchalant tone and Sungmin lifted his eyebrows.
“Well wouldn’t it be logical that they have gone to stay with the normal wolves if they really are their leaders?” Sungmin asked carefully and Shindong huffed.
“Do you seriously think that they actually managed to survive to the forest?” Shindong said with a mocking tone. “They are labrats. Nothing more nothing less. the scientists are trying to come up with the theory, why they end up being able to control the wild wolves and why they cannot be created by the….”chemical” means so to say.” Shindong shrugged and Sungmin’s intrigued expression died away.
“Labrats? Like are they being….”
“Experimented on? Yes. Kept in captivity? Yes. Stripped off their humanrights? Fuck yes.” the man growled under his breath. “the testing faculties are hush-hush business, but unfortunately the truth is, that all the pure-breeds are in south-Korea, and most likely not even one of them are going to see outside the cage they are in during their whole lifetime.” the older man said and Sungmin’s frown deepened. Shindong started to collect the books on the table and put them on the shelf and Sungmin looked emptily at the surface of the table, tracing the lines of the wood with his fingers.
“…Are there any information sources about the purebreds?” Sungmin asked Shindong, who’d grabbed his shoulderbag and swung it over his shoulder. The man pondered for a while before pointing towards the less frequently used part of the huge library.
“If I started to look for information about them, I’d go there. But why would you need something trivial as that?” Shindong asked with a confused tone and Sungmin shrugged nonchalantly.
“Just out of pure curiosity, I guess.” Shindong looked at the younger man for a while with an unreadable expression on his face before apparently marking the whole thing as not important and turning around to leave. However, when he reached the main doors to the library, he turned around and smirked at Sungmin.
“Remember, sex is for releasing all the pressures you have built inside you, so premature ejaculation is to be expected!”
Sungmin seriously contemplated on hanging himself from one of the lamps hanging from the ceiling as the few people in the library all turned to look at him and started to laugh.

Back and forth.
Back.
Forth.
Another direction. Back and forth.
Back.
Forth.
A slight bite on his neck, a breath beside his ear.
Sungmin stopped in his pacing and grit his teeth together, barely refraining from lashing at the innocently hanging rope beside him, the rope clearly just asking to be kicked and punched and ripped to sheds. The man sighed and ran his hand through his hair staring out from the window on the opposite wall and watched with empty eyes how wolves were jogging across the large field with their guardians, playing and fooling around like small pups. Sungmin stared at the soft looking grass dreamily and could almost feel the soft texture under his fingertips, the leaves tickling his neck and face if he would go and lie there. Sleeping on warm grass mat was most likely the best place to sleep aside from those luxurious soft beds with silk linens and the softest pillows…
A hand encouraged him to open up his legs a bit more, coaching and reassuring at the same time. A shiver ran along Sungmin’s spine, making him tremble in anticipation. Lust was consuming him, eating him up.
Soon the dynamic of the situation changed as Sungmin’s legs were suddenly straddling Hankyung’s hips and he had started to shiver furiously with anticipation and nervousness. Hankyung’s dick was poking at his ass insistently, but never going in. Sungmin turned to look at the wolf lying under him, and the tenderness in the dark orbs was enough to calm him down enough to suck in a sharp breath and lower himself on the appendice, feeling it pierce his hole. Hankyung let out a keening moan and grabbed Sungmin’s hips, guiding him downwards and the younger male froze, his whole body shaking again, but this time with pain as he was stretched way beyond his limits. The Chinese male stopped immediately and lifted his upper body so, that he could hug the smaller man to his chest. Small kisses were put on his neck and ears and Sungmin let out a wavering moan when Hankyung’s hands found his member and stroked the shaft gently. This continued for a good while before Sungmin twisted his hips a little, giving a small encouragement for Hankyung to move.
The wolf snapped his hips upwards, filling Sungmin up to the hilt and the younger male gaped in shock, but didn’t exactly have the time to utter a sound when Hankyung pulled his hips down, and pushed them up again, but now the difference was, that the movement caused sparks pleasure rippling along Sungmin’s spine and without even thinking through his actions, Sungmin let out a pleasured yelp out of his throat and grabbed Hankyung’s thighs for extra support.
“Don’t stop! Whatever you do, don’t stop…!” Sungmin whispered from between his chapped lips. The heavy pants and a very erotic lick to his ear were quite clear indications that Hankyung wasn’t about to stop anytime soon. Not until both of them were sated.
Sungmin’s eyes snapped open from his haze and before even thinking his actions through properly, the man walked over to one of the shelves lining the walls and with one swing of his arm, he brought all the equipment lying on the shelves crashing down.
Basketballs, small cones, bag gloves, bandages. Everything came tumbling down. Sungmin was breathing heavily and his fists were clenching and unclenching fervently, shaking slightly from the sudden adrenaline explosion. He was boiling.
With a swift movement of his right foot, he kicked a full roundhouse kick to the nearest punching bag, leaving the heavy object shaking in the air. Sungmin had his eyes fixed on the bag, calming his erratic breathing down. Ignoring the random equipment lying on the ground he walked over to the bag and steadied it with his hands, stopping the uncontrolled movement.
Every time his fists collided with the leather surface of the bag, Sungmin felt how the dam keeping all his emotions at bay started to leak. Sweat was beading on his crumpled forehead and small blood droplets were left on the bag as the man’s knuckles opened up, spreading the red juice across Sungmin’s fingers and dropping on the floor. The man stared at the bag, his teeth grit together and eyes blinking away the sleepiness.
And finally with one enraged cry the man swung his leg up and landed a crushing kick with his shin to the bag, breaking the canvas and making the grains of sand fly everywhere from the damaged bag. Sungmin lowered his leg and stared at the bag, his breath coming out in short gasps and before the bag stopped swinging from side to side, the man let out an enraged growl, grabbing the hole in the canvas and with a resounding ripping sound the bag was suddenly in two pieces in Sungmin’s hands, sand flying everywhere.
The male stood there, dust and sand flying past his eyes and his heartbeat ringing in his ears. When the sand settled and sunlight started to shine to the room without being filtered through a thick cloud of dust, the man blinked once, before the exhaustion started to gnaw at his muscles and he had to drop himself to his left knee.
Sungmin sat there like this for almost ten minutes. Not moving, just letting his gaze sweep across the destruction he had caused. His heart was still beating from the sudden adrenaline rush, but he didn’t feel the indescribable rage anymore. On the contrary, the longer he sat there on the floor of the dance room, the bigger the feeling of being lost grew. Sungmin gnawed at his lower lip and stared at the destroyed punching bag and with shaky hands he reached out to hold the coarse fabric between his fingers. He couldn’t stop the slightly panicked laugh escaping from between his lips as he remembered what his sensei had told him the day he was allowed to train with a punching bag for the first time.
“These things are designed for hard use. You can punch them all you want, but in the end it would require the strength of a body builder to actually start wearing these things out, mr. Lee.”
The man gripped the fabric and ruffled his hair tiredly. This wasn’t like him at all. He never lost his composure as easily as he had done now. Sungmin lifted his eyes to look to the mirror lining the walls in the dance studio and took in his appearance, trying to calm his fraying nerves.
Still the same. From the outside nothing had changed. He still had the same messy dark tuft of hair, dark eyes and the same dry and chapped lips. Still the same old college shirt with his loose blue jeans and white sneakers. Still the same defiant eyes and angry mouth.
Sungmin frowned as he looked at himself and rose from the floor and walked shakily to stand in front of the mirror. With scrutinizing eyes he looked at himself and lifted his hand to touch his face. He let his fingertips press to his face the very same way he had touched Hankyung on their anatomy lesson. He let his fingers travel to the back of his skull and felt around, heart beating fervently in his chest.
After a while of feeling around the man sighed and his tense posture relaxed. What had he expected? the structures of a wolf suddenly emerging on himself? A sudden feeling of aggravation and strength doesn’t mean that he’s actually going through physical changes. The man let out a huff of breath and looked his mirror image in the eyes.
“You need to get laid.” Sungmin said with a mocking tone to his twin and turned around to go and clean up the supplies from the floor, but he froze mid step as he saw something in the mirror.
He spun around to stare at his face and his mouth fell open in shock as his eyes locked on the two tufts of coarse hair pointing out from among his own hair. Sungmin’s whole posture started to shake as he lifted his fingers to touch the pointy end and he gulped.
“Impossible.” The man whispered through his lips, but just as he was about to reach the furry end, two loud knock startled him from his thoughts and when he turned around to face the disturbance, Donghae was standing there, looking at the disarray in the dance studio with a horrified expression on his face.
“Sungmin! What the hell, you could’ve at least cleaned after yourself, we have dance practise here in half an hour!” The man said with a scolding tone but his stern expression melted when he saw the state in which Sungmin was. “You okay? You look like you would’ve seen a ghost.” Donghae asked and Sungmin woke from his surprised state and spun around to look at himself from the mirror.
He lifted his hands to touch the sides of his head and a barely audible sigh of relief escaped his lips. He was seriously in need of good night’s sleep if it was going to this, that he would be seeing things. Sungmin smiled to his friend apologetically and started to collect the cones from his feet, taking them to the shelves he had swiped off their respectful place earlier.
“Sorry, I kind of…needed these in my training. I’ll be out in a few!” The man said hastily over his shoulder and started to kick the grains of sand on the floor to a something resembling a pile when Donghae’s hand on his shoulder stopped him in his ministrations. Donghae’s brows were furrowed and he looked extremely worried.
“I can clean up, you need to catch up to some sleep, you look awful.” the man said and started to pick up the remains of the punching bag, but the younger man didn’t pay the words any heed, but continued to pick the stray objects littered around the dance studio. Donghae walked over to to his friend and grabbed his arm. With surprising strength he managed to take Sungmin to the corridor before the younger man woke up enough from his surprised daze to rip himself free.
“Sungmin, why are you here?” Donghae asked with his arms crossed over his chest and Sungmin narrowed his eyes.
“To train, isn’t that obvious?” the man tried to go back to the dance studio but Donghae slammed the door shut and continued to glare at his friend. Sungmin answered the glare with one of his own and a silence fell between them before Donghae spoke again.
“You’re swaying from side to side because you’re so tired. What’s wrong? Has something happened to you?” The man asked, the tense tone getting a worried undertone as he looked at his best friend standing before him. Sungmin turned his eyes to the wall beside them, feeling extremely uncomfortable under his friend’s observant gaze. From the two of them, Sungmin might’ve been the one excelling on sciences, but when it came to humans, Sungmin was like a baby in what it came to understanding different people. That’s why after a while of even more pressuring silence between them, the younger man let out a heavy sigh before turning his eyes to Donghae, who lifted his eyebrow expectantly.
“Come to my room after your dance practize and if you can, smuggle some beer with you. I’ll explain everything to you then, I cannot do it here.” Sungmin said and after a while of looking at his friend skeptically, the older man nodded and shot his friend a last glare.
“Don’t you dare to leave me standing behind your door like some hobo. And I’m finishing the cleaning here, you go and catch some sleep.” When Sungmin was about to open his mouth to protest, Donghae lifted his hand, silencing the younger man effectively. “And I’m not negotiating about this with you. Off you go.” With this, the older man entered the dance studio and the door closed behind him with a resounding click and Sungmin rolled his eyes in exasperation before a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. Donghae had really changed from the unsure, wimpy little school boy to something completely different in such a short time.
Sungmin climbed up the stairs leading to the main hall and without even registering his surroundings he continued on his way to the second floor where his dorm was located. He felt like his head was filled with soft and very warm pillows as he entered his room and leaned his head to the door frame for a moment to gain some of his energy together and closed the door with a soft ‘thunk’.
The man just couldn’t muster the strength to walk inside and flop himself on the bed. His legs started to slowly give out and soon Sungmin was sitting on the floor of his dorm with his side pressed against the wooden frame. Letting all his energy be poured to the poor punching bag really wasn’t as good idea as it had seemed in the beginning as now all the stored adrenaline from his system had disappeared, leaving him with only the gnawing weariness inside.
Fuck he was tired. With this the man closed his eyes and soon sleep dragged his consciousness away, leaving him leaning on the wooden door frame.

Donghae walked up the stairs with his hands full of beer bottles and his backpack slung over his left shoulder. With great difficulty he maneuvered the bottles to rest on his other arm when he used the other one to open the door to Sungmin’s dorm. and his eyes widened slightly as he saw his friend resting beside the door, silent snores escaping his parted lips in steady intervals. Donghae stared for a while longer before letting out a small chuckle and walking inside the dorm to put the bottles on the nearby table.
Donghae walked over to his friend and kneeled beside him, putting Sungmin’s limp arm over his shoulders and stood up, walking over to the untouched bed. Sungmin didn’t wake up when Donghae unceremoniously dumped him on the bedsheets and covered him with the blanket lying at the end of the bed.
Donghae took in the dark circles under Sungmin’s eyes, the almost grey color of his skin and the bloody scars running along his knuckles from his rage fit at the dance studio. The older man tiptoed to the bathroom where he took out a disinfectant, a roll of gauze and scissors before going back to sit at the edge of Sungmin’s bed and taking the injured hand gingerly to lay on Donghae’s lap.
“I bet you’re so tired that you won’t even feel this.” the man muttered to himself before pouring a generous amount of the disinfectant to the gauze and pressing it on Sungmin’s knuckles. A muscle on Sungmin’s cheek twitched and the man rolled his head to the other side, muttering something under his breath, but not waking up. Donghae let out a sigh of relief and wiped away any excess blood from the pale skin before tying the gauze properly and put the arm back to rest on the bed.
Donghae took a step towards the bathroom with the intention to wash his hands from the small flakes of blood, but froze mid step when something on Sungmin’s night table caught his attention. With furrowed brows Donghae reached out for the thick book lying innocently on the wooden surface and turned it around to see the title.
The problems of heat in a wolf/guardian relationship
Donghae’s brows rose as he took in the title and before he could help it a small laugh escaped his lips. Still chuckling to himself he put the book back on the table and walked over to the bathroom to wash his hands. Sungmin was actually taking things that seriously to go and read a book like that. When Donghae exited the bathroom, his eyes locked immediately to the pile of books which he had missed on the bed side table and shrugging to himself he walked over to the pile and grabbed them and started to look through the titles.
His amused demeanor disappeared when he took in the scale of books in his lap.
The bacterial influence in blood versus in sperm
The course of heat in a guardian
The wolf’s instinct: a study
Donghae looked through the covers of the books and looked to his sleeping friend. While Donghae was looking, Sungmin rolled over in his sleep, letting out a small whimper, the muscles in his arms twitching insistently and eyes moving rapidly under his lids. Donghae sighed and put the books back on the table, walking over to the door and exiting the dorm. After he made sure the door was securely locked the man started to walk briskly along the corridor, not paying attention to who he bumped to accidentally. eyes desperately searching for Kyuhyun.
Sungmin you moron. Why didn’t you tell that you’re about to hit heat when your wolf is on a hunting trip?!

When Sungmin woke up, he was rather glad for the blanket covering himself as the first thing that assaulted his senses was the realization of sporting a enormous hard on.
“Hey you’re awake!” Donghae’s voice came from somewhere and Sungmin turned his head enough to see his best friend sitting on the lounge chair placed beside the window. The younger male groaned and covered his eyes with his arm and tried to wake himself up enough to go to the bathroom to take care of his…small problem.
Except that something wasn’t right.
Morning wood wasn’t supposed to make his whole body feel like hundred tarantulas were walking on his skin.
With a jolt Sungmin jumped up and stared at the opposite wall in terror as he realized in what situation he was in. He snapped his head towards Donghae, whose eyes had widened to almost comical proportions when Sungmin had suddenly jostled completely awake.
“Whichdayisit?!” the man bellowed and Donghae gaped for a while before frowning in confusion.
“…What?”
“THE DAY. WHICH DAY IS IT?!” Sungmin screamed as he jumped up from the bed, but when his legs touched the floor, his whole body shuddered violently and he had to lean to the bed post with his whole weight. Donghae was there in a second, supporting Sungmin’s weight easily and pushed him back on the bed.
“Calm down, you’re going through your heat. Hankyung is coming back today, so you can j…” Sungmin’s horrified expression made Donghae stop in his tracks and he lifted his other eyebrow. “You slept for three days.”
Sungmin stared at Donghae from the edge of the bed, his eyes wide and after a while the younger male intertwined his fingers on his lap, trying to ease the shaking in his every pore.
“Why didn’t I start puking and flipping shits like last time I was in heat?” Sungmin’s tone was deadly calm, but his frantic breathing was giving out the panic he was feeling. Donghae looked at his friend nervously and fiddled with the hem of his shirt.
“…Umm…you were sleeping most of the time? And the symptoms get usually slightly more subdued after the first time.” Donghae said and Sungmin groaned loudly, partly from the heightened sensations traveling along his spine and partly from the realization that the three days he had planned on using to plan the whole event of Woo, Fuck & Forget had slipped past his fingers because he had taken a three day NAP.
“Donghae, how many hours do I have before Hankyung will be here?” Sungmin asked with a solemn tone, wincing when a shiver of arousal ran through his skin and pressed the blanket on his lap a bit more carefully to cover his…problem.
“I think he’ll be here after dinner or so?” the taller man said and lifted his eyebrows when Sungmin paled and the tremors started to run through his body again.
“What the hell am I supposed to do in a situation like this?! No way I’m ready to jump to bed with a person whom I have never even dated or friggin’ kissed, not to mention that the person is a MAN. Hankyung is alright but actually having sex when i…” Sungmin sucked in a sharp breath when the wildfire of desire shot through his veins with even stronger intensity than before. Donghae looked at his friend for a while before letting out a sigh.
“Sungmin, can’t you just treat it as something that’s not so…big and important? It’s sex. You’ve done it, you’ve liked it, but never before it has been such a big issue to you. Or is it a big issue now because it’s Hankyung you…”
“Don’t even finish that sentence or I’ll rip out your testicles and feed them to dogs.” Sungmin said with a menacing tone and when Donghae continued to look at him with the knowing expression, Sungmin let out an exasperated sigh. “Can’t I just regard Hankyung as somebody who is okay as a friend but not as a bed partner?!” Sungmin asked and Donghae lifted his eyebrows and a smirk started to creep itself on his lips.
“Which one would you prefer, having sex with Hankyung or having sex with me? You have to choose one.” If Sungmin’s glare would’ve had the power to kill, he would’ve committed a homicide of several thousand people in that one instant. Donghae let out a small laugh before continuing. “Seriously Sungmin, I bet you’d choose Hankyung because, well, me sleeping with you is like sleeping with a brother. plus..” Donghae smirked again. “He’s attractive, isn’t he?”
Sungmin stared at his friend with a dull expression. Donghae continued to look at him coaxingly, wiggling his eyebrows. After a while Sungmin lifted his legs over the bed’s edge and crawled to lie in the middle of the wide mattress, covering himself with the blanket. Donghae rolled his eyes at his best friend’s antics.
“Come on Sungmin! It’s just sex!”
“But it’s NOT ‘just sex’ as you so kindly repeat over and over again.” Sungmin bellowed and jumped up from his lying position. “It won’t be ’just sex’, not now, not tomorrow, not after million years! Donghae, I have liked pussy all my life. Hell I still like when a girl with big boobs walks past with the jugs bouncing everywhere. I STILL JACK OFF TO THAT. And now…” Sungmin flailed his arms everywhere, trying to find the right words. ”I’m actually considering having sex with a man and I….” the words died on Sungmin’s tongue before they even came out and Donghae looked at his friend expectantly. After a long while of silence Sungmin let out a small sigh of frustration and cringing when the blanket brushed the tip of his cock briefly.
“…I don’t even dislike the idea all that much. Because of him. Because yes, maybe I find him attractive, maybe I want to finally give him something in return for all the good things he has offered me. Maybe I just…I dunno.” Sungmin ran his hand through his dark locks of hair. “Maybe I just want to stop being such a control freak and just go with the flow.”
Donghae looked at his best friend, and a smile tugged at the corners of his lips.
“You’re still trying to be a control freak with all the overanalyzing the sex-part. You need to stop and think of it as something very surgical. It’s exactly like a prostrate exam. When I first hit heat, Eunhyuk went kind of nuts because of the scent, but when he regained his composure, he actually offered me the chance to do the whole procedure as something very…clinical. With a tube of semen and…other stuff like that. “Donghae made a distasteful purse with his lips and Sungmin scoffed at his best friend’s antics. ”But it was too impersonal. Sungmin, you don’t hit heat just for the bacteria exchange. Everytime you have sex with the wolf, it strengthens the bond between you. It is the only connection you have to the actual wolf-part of the wolf itself.” Donghae stared at his best friend and Sungmin fiddled with the blanket in his hands.
“But doesn’t that count as something like bonding if I just bare my ass for him and he just….does whatever it is he does? Isn’t that a display of trust?” Sungmin’s tone was almost desperate and Donghae rubbed his face tiredly.
“Look, Sungmin, I really can’t explain this very well, but the functionality of a wolf-guardian partnership depends on the bond the two share. Your mark almost disappeared once-“ Sungmin’s hand came to rest on the mark on his neck almost unconsciously. “- so are you willing to risk the already fragile relationship you two share by just going through the easiest route?”
The silence in the room was almost deafening as Sungmin pondered over his best friend’s words. After a while Donghae turned around and walked over to the door leading to the common corridor.
“Just think things through before jumping into any decisions. Hankyung will understand no matter what alternative you pick so don’t worry about that.” With a wave of his hand, Donghae left the dorm, leaving Sungmin sitting on the bed with a dumbstruck expression on his face . After several minutes of sitting on his bed, Sungmi n let out a gasp of breath when the sensations on his skin started to remind him about the problem under the blanket and with no more hesitation Sungmin jumped up from the bed and ran to the bathroom, locking the door carefully after himself.
With a relieved sigh he touched his erect member, trying to keep his whole train of thought as neutral as possible, but he couldn’t stop the passing thoughts about the foreboding subject of sex.
Would it feel good? Could it feel good?
Sungmin moaned loudly when his hand started to pick up its pace and when the first waves of his orgasm hit him, his whole body convulsed and his back hit the door of the bathroom with a heavy thump, breath coming in irregular intervals, synching with the erratic movements of his hand. The man let his body crumble on the floor and with a slight snort of amusement Sungmin stared at his stained hand and wiped it to the towel hanging from the edge of the sink.
It was exactly like being hopped on drugs. He hadn’t noticed it when talking to Donghae, but now that he actually had the time to concentrate on the different sensations in his body, he had to laugh a bit.
Bacteria induced Ecstacy. Well that’s something for the tree huggers to ponder.
