First week of August
Japan rocked even though it mostly involved intense work at ****. I hope to get back there when I get more time and I wish I could have coordinated a trip back there while Dee was still visiting.
I spent some time learning the Japanese alphabets and a few of the symbols and would practice it by reading the signs from while traveling from place to place. Enough of the words were company or product names that I knew or words pulled over from English, so it wasn't futile, just made my brain hurt after doing it long enough. The evening I got home, I went out to see a concert (Mae) with Alexis, Lisa, and Melissa, and it was sooooo nice to finally be able to communicate without so much concentration.
Sunday was rafting with friends, which rocked as always. Definitely going on the list of things to do next summer as well. Next time we are definitely doing the unguided trip.
