Happy Thanksgiving (or, for my international readers, Happy Thursday!)!
I'm at my parents this morning, waiting for the Macy's Parade to start and watching this incredible story on Good Morning America about this 8-year-old kid who's a superstar athlete despite only having one leg. Wow--makes me feel inadequate.
Last night, John, Jim, Mike, and I went to see Milk. I'll probably write more about it after I get back in town, but--wow. It is easily the best film I've seen this year. It's also incredibly relevant because of the parallels between Prop 6 and Prop 8. Prop 8 shows how far we've come in 30 years (at least there is no longer any serious threat of all gay teachers being fired just for being gay), but also reminds us just how far we have to go. I strongly encourage everyone to go see it. It also heartens me about my own life, since I feel like I've done nothing important--and I'm still 9 years younger than Milk was when he moved to San Francisco.

One last thing...I'm now watching the Macy Parade, and the cast of The Little Mermaid just performed "Under the Sea". Oh man, that looks ridiculous live on stage. I also find it amusing that, for many of the female cast members, the top half of their costumes were apparently inspired by stripper costumes. That wholesome Disney! Also, I hope dancing is keeping all the cast members of the various musicals that are performing warm, since nearly every actor has been wearing a rather thin-looking costume, and they announced at the top of the show that the outside temperature was 37 F in New York. Brrr.
