A/N: It’s been done, I know. But this one’s different, you see, it’s just them talking, nothing else. I tried to convey all their thoughts on the matter, the whispers are in italics.
“Daddy?”
“Yeah?”
“Tad?”
“Yes, honey?”
“How did you meet each other?”
“Well,”
“It’s a bit of a long story.”
“Maybe leave it for another night?”
“But Daddy, please?”
“Daddy said no, honey.”
“Tad!”
“Ok, ok. Tad, shall we tell her?”
“Well, shall we do the short version?”
“Weevil and Myfawny.”
“Or the coffee?”
“Daddy, just tell me, the first time you met!”
“Ok.”
“Jack, what are you going to say?”
“The clean version, don’t worry Yan.”
“Daddy!”
“Go on then, Daddy.”
“Well, Daddy was in the forest fighting a weevil, you’ve seen Janet haven’t you? In the Hub, yeah?”
“Yes, Daddy, you made me sit in front of her remember?”
“Jack?”
“For like a minute!”
“Carry on then...?”
“Well, I was out catching her when she pounced on me. When this handsome man, your Tad, came to save me! He picked up this big, big branch off a tree nearby and smacked her hard around the head.”
“Loved your actions just then.”
“Excuse me, Tad, I was in the middle of our story.”
“Sorry.”
“Right, well that handsome man hit her again, this time she got off me, she had scratched me on the neck, it was really painful.”
“You said you’d had worst from shaving.”
“Well I couldn’t exactly tell you then that I had healing powers and that my neck had been half ripped open.”
“Daddy! Carry on, I’m tired.”
“Ok, she lunged at Tad then, grabbing at him, so I leapt forward, throwing it on the floor and macing it before it could do any harm to anyone else.”
“Was that it? And you loved each other from then?”
“Not quite, honey, Daddy was a bit stubborn.”
“I was protecting Torchwood. Thought I’d have to deal with you.”
“You sure did.”
“Daddy! Tad! What else happened then?”
“Well I brought Daddy a cup of coffee the next day-“
“That was good coffee.”
“It’s never changed.”
“Well he took the coffee, drank it then just walked off.”
“Oh, Daddy!”
“No, I didn’t do that. Your Tad is twisting the truth!”
“Well anyway, after the coffee incident, I managed to stop him one more time.”
“Your Tad stood in the middle of the road, Aurora; he could have got himself killed if it wasn’t for me stopping.”
“You said you’d run me over.”
“Hardly.”
“You seemed pretty sure...”
“No.”
“So he stopped me and told me there was a pterodactyl in an empty building. So I got out and put together an injection to sedate her.”
“Is that Myfawny?”
“It is, yes.”
“And that’s when your Daddy got me with his 51st century pheromones.”
“What are they, Tad?”
“Ask me when your 18.”
“Anyway, your Tad helped me catch Myfawny and that’s when I offered him to work at Torchwood.”
“And I kindly accepted.”
“So you loved each other then?”
“Well, under the influence of the pheromones perhaps.”
“A few things happened before that, honey.”
“Tell me then, I wana know when you fell in love.”
“Tomorrow, ok?”
“OK.”
