So my one uncle is moving to Colorado. Again. Lets see how long this move lasts.
Anyway, the entire east coast family met at the farm. That's seven, including myself. Eight if you count the aunt's boyfriend. Not too bad, our times overlapped for only a few hours.
NOW, the health inspector's here. The 'rents were a little freaked out yesterday about this. But as I was typing this up, Mom came in a told me she may be freaking the inspector out a bit - metioning her trip to the White House to talk about the future of farming, the awards for environmental excellence they've won, and other assorted name drops. GO MOM. :P
Fandom wise, I haven't had much time to do anything. Or post anything I should say. I wrote those notes for a fic (apparently I'm producing every like two years or so?) that I then left at work. I've had some AWESOME conversations with people about various genres. I've been living with my Dad this summer, and actually have someone that I can pick apart movies/TV with - mom has never really gone for it. There's also my favorite couple at work that I wait on. I sat down with them on my break and discussed Avengers/Whedon & Promethus/Aliens. Then we discussed noir and westerns - he's trying to start their ~15 son on both. We were discussing our favs of course; they're not particually fond of John Wayne. WTF? And they've started him on The Good, The Bad and the Ugly - which is STUPID. Do you realize how BORING that is if your not into westerns and are age 15? gah. Start with The Cowboys, or Silverado, or YOU KNOW MAGNIFICENT SEVEN. :D They liked that idea, cause then, as I always recommend, you can compare it to Seven Samurai and start on Kurosawa :D
I put in an app for for pentapus's round 2 of Treehouse ReverseBang. WE WILL SEE.
I have both my dc_dystopia fics to read and make art for :D Currently downloading Microsoft Office to the new computer so I can read them!
I have to catch up on
thefandomzoo entries. NOT ENOUGH HOURS IN THE DAY.
Off to make turnovers/samosas for the company picnic next weekend. I'll make the dough and filling today, bake them on Sunday morning.
