It's sad that in many places she's either being lionized or demonized -- no inbetween. She was a real person with serious flaws and incredible courage. From reading most obits, you'd either think she was Pakistan's Mother Theresa or a dizzy dame who was in over her head.
It's sad that asshole right wing bloggers are saying HAW HAW BITCH HAD IT COMING and trivializing the deaths of all of the other people who died in the attack.
It's sad that my mom commented "Well, at least it wasn't the other guy."
It's sad that presidential candidates are using her death to yell TERRORISTS! ISLAMOFACISM!
I know, I know, I'm probably preaching to the choir about this, but I think the thing that unsettles me the most is the coming news coverage which will probably be steeped in Orientalist stereotypes and rampant scaremongering, which are really the last two things the world needs any more of right now.
