My Promise: Chapter 6
Satoshi had prepared some apology flowers for her on the way to her house. He was hoping that she would reconsider his proposal. He opened the ring case in one hand to see a beautiful diamond ring he picked out for her. But before anything, he wanted to talk first. He arrived at the mansion and saw that mizumi was home already. Kazunari was home as well. He got out of the car carrying the flowers in his hands.
At the front door, he was greeted by butler sho. “Welcome sir. I assume you’re here to see the madam?” Ohno nodded. “Yes I want to bring her these flowers and hope to apologize and talk with her about what happened this morning. Sho nodded and let him inside. There kazunari greeted him. “Good evening satoshi, are you here to see mizumi?” he nodded once again. “yes I am kazu-san.” Kazunari smiled. “ah well she’s not feeling well, but you’re more than welcome to go up to her room. Sho please take our guest up there.”
Kazunari gave sho a smirky smile and sho nodded his head. “Pleaser right this way sir.” Sho led satoshi to mizumi’s room.
Mizumi was sitting at her vanity mirror just staring at herself and thinking back at all that masaki had said. She reflected on her reaction. She cried without knowing why. Lately, her emotions have been taking control of her. She even rejected the love of her life’s plan to propose to her. She cupped her own cheeks. “what’s wrong with me…” she said quietly.
As sudden quite knock came at the door. “madam you have a guest.” Sho’s voice quietly rang out. Mizumi went to the door and opened it slightly just to fit her head out finding satoshi there with a bouquet of flowers. “apology roses.” He said nervously smiling. She opened the door to receive them smiling until Satoshi looked down and away blushing. “um…mizumi you’re…” Mizumi looked at herself realizing she was wearing her just above the knee nightgown revealing more of her body curvature.
She blushed bright red going back inside and putting on her robe. “S..sorry…” she came back to the door. Sho bowed. “I shall leave you both alone.” Sho quietly left the couple. “wait-..” but he was already on his way whistling happily. Sigh sighed. “that guy…”
She turned her attention back on Satoshi. “shall we go to the study room?”
In the study room, the flowers were placed in a beautiful vase that sho brought in a few minutes later. She sat down beside him. “I’m sorry about nii-chan.” She said starting first staring at the flowers. “he can say unnecessary things sometimes. But…” Satoshi moved his hands and curled it with hers. She looked at her hand and back to him. She let his eyes relax her. He had that ability and she loved it.
“have you been crying?” he said softly moving her hair back behind her ear. “ah…yes..but I’m fine now.” She smiled shyly away. “but…” she let go of his hands and moved a bit further away from him. “why are you here at this time of night?” she asked him. Satoshi sighed looking at the spot where he held her hands. “I’m sorry too. I should have told you what I was thinking. What I wanted for the both of us. But I really do mean and intend to marry you mizumi.”
Mizumi felt a small pang in the heart not knowing what the feeling is. “ I know we’ve been together for five years only, but I think it’s more than enough.” He held her face in his hands and stared at her moving closer and closer. She didn’t know what to say. A part of her said yes, another part said no. Most of her heart said no. “No…” she whispered.
But satoshi didn’t hear her and kissed her gently pouring out all his feelings and love to her. Naturally, her body responded and kissed him back. He pushed her slowly onto the couch with him on top of her. “stop” she said loudly in her head. “stop it!” she pushed satoshi away; in which he willingly stopped. Her heart was beating fast from the kiss. She took in deep breaths that were taken away from her during the session.
“I’m sorry…” he said to her trying to calm her down. She had a pained looked on her face. “go” she said sternly.
He tried to reason. “mizumi..i…” she responded more strongly. “GO! LEAVE ME!” She curled up on the corner of the couch. “please” she said quietly. Tears trickled down her red cheeks which satoshi had held in his hands.
He left her alone and was escorted out by sho. Mizumi remained curled in the corner staring at the roses. She didn’t now what to feel anymore. “Masaki…” she said softly. Just the name bought her on the verge of crying. Again she didn’t know why. Was it his kindness? His pureness? Innocence? His love for his former lover? She continued to think until she fell asleep dreaming of a young man who saved her from her perpetrator. She struggled in her sleep.
Kazunari stood outside the study room door looking at her sleeping there. Sho appeared next to him. “shall I take her to bed sir?” Kazunari continued to look at her through the doors. “no I’ll take her to her room myself.” Sho bowed. “understood sir. I’ll be taking my rest. Have a good night.” He turned and walked down turning at the corner. “Good night sho…” he said softly.
He went in and carried her princess style to her room; tucked her in bed and gave her a kiss in the forehead. A flashback of him in bed with his lover appeared. He closed his eyes and sighed leaving the room.
