Mizumi who was surprised spoke. “w…what?” she became embarrassed and blushed. “we…we’re not a couple!” she tried to remove her hand and frowned. “awww she must be embarrassed” said noriko. “you’re so cute mizumi. Why didn’t you tell us you were seeing someone?! How long has this been going on?” mika put an arm around her mizumi’s waist pullilng her close. “for almost a month now.” He smiled at them. mizumi could feel butterflies in her stomach. ‘what the hell is he doing?’ she said to herself. Mizumi tried to fight her way out of it. he let her go and took her hand again. “let’s go.” He said smiling to her. even though she was mad at him, she couldn’t help but smile back at him. “okay..” she said softly.
They got outside to his car. She went in as she waited for him to get into the driver’s seat. When they started driving, she spoke. “what was that? we are not a couple. Why did you tell them that?!” she crossed her arm. Mika returned to his shy demeanor. “s..sorry…it’s just that you were so..” they stopped at a stop like and he glanced over at her who then returned the glance and he smiled. Mizumi turned away. “I’m still mad at you.” She said to him. it made his heart hurt. He sighed as he started driving again. “okay look. I’m sorry. I guess I needed to say something reassuring to make sure that…” he stumbled over his words.
Mizumi looked at him. “make sure that what?” he tried to keep his jealousy in. “that day when you called from work, I was really happy. I don’t know what it is, but…” he took a deep breath. “but I like you…” mizumi looked out the passenger window for a while taking in what he just confessed. Mika didn’t know what was happening. He looked back and forth over to mizumi and back to the road. ‘did I shock her to much?’ he thought to himself. ‘maybe it was too fast..’ he said again. ‘maaan…I’m done..we’re done..’ he said again frantically. He became tensed in the car but tried to remain is composer. “mizumi are you okay?”
Mizumi turned to him when mentioned her by her first name. he couldn’t read her face, but there was a hint of surprise. “s…sorry..” he said quickly. “I…have always wanted to call you by your first name for a while now…I really do like you.” Mizumi couldn’t say anything. ‘damn it say something stupid’ she said to herself. ‘are you dumbfounded or something? This shouldn’t be a shock to you!’ mika stopped the car at the place. It looked elegant fitting for what they were wearing. he smiled. “we’re here”
He got out and opened the other door for her to get out. He held out an arm for her. “if you don’t mind, shall we? We can talk over dinner like I said in our text conversation. I’ll explain myself if you give me a chance.” Mizumi blushed and took his arm as she was escorted inside.
“eh? Her boyfriend? That good looking guy?” noriko giggled “aaahh where does she find all these good looking guys. Honestly. First her coworker and now him.” they were in satoshi’s car now on the way to his apartment where the other guys were waiting. “I wonder if she will bring him home. I want to really get a good look at him.” noriko said smiling to herself. “are you saying you have a crush on him?” said Akira giving noriko the darting glare. “n…nno!” said noriko jokingly. “come on. I only have eyes for sho.” But she had to admit to herself that he was good looking. Even better than sho. She put a finger to her lips thinking.
Rin flicked her ear. “ow! What was that for!?” she covered her ear. “you’re thinking again. and I know it’s about that guy mizumi is out with.” Noriko laughed. “rin…I told you all already. Sho is the only guy I have eyes for! Honest!” she can see no one was on her side. they kept teasing her. “honest!” she whined. “satoshi, tell them I’m telling the truth, please?” ohno chuckled. “sho loves you noriko. I’m sure he understands.”
“what is that suppose to mean?!” she frowned and crossed her arms. “meanies!” akira, rin, and satoshi laughed at her. “this is all your fault Akira. I hang out with you too much.” akira laughed and started to argue with Noriko about who’s fault it really is. while ohno just kept on driving thinking about mizumi and the other guy. “I’m her boyfriend” he remembered again. he frowned as he felt a pang of jealousy. Soft hands touched his. “are you okay?” Akira asked him. ohno pulled up finally to their desitnation. “I’m fine.” He said smiling. He then kissed her lightly on her fore head. “we’re here! Ready to go swimming?” he said winking at Akira. akira giggled. “yes!”
They got inside to see Yori already there. “hi girls!” she said happily. “whoa..you’re here already.” Said Rin as Jun came up to her kissing her hello. “is maa-kun here?” said Akira teasingly. Yori nodded smiling. “are you two back together?!” asked Noriko. Yori frowned. “what? No…” her face became sad. “unfortunately..” she said. “we talked…and apologized to eachother for doing wrong to the other person….” Yori paused. “and then?” asked noriko. “and then nino asked him to go get ice.” “what the…” noriko said frowning. “damn it kaz! Why don’t you get ice yourself!” she yelled out. He she knew he was out preparing the BBQ.
“oh look! Someone is here!” he said aloud knowing it was Noriko. “welcome! I don’t know who you are so may I know your name?” he said coming in smirking. He walked passed her to the bathroom. “everyone is teasing me tonight…” said noriko sulking. She saw sho come in. she then ran to him. “sho! I’m so sorry! you’re the only man I’ll ever love. I’m so sorry!” sho hugged her confused as she looked at rin who was laughing shaking her head meaning it was an inside joke. Jun tugged at her asking what happened.” Sho laughed and held up noriko by the chin bringing her close to his face. “daijoubu ne. I know you will never betray me.” he lightly kissed her nose and went to the kitchen to open the drinks he bought.
Nino went down the hall to the restroom to hear Akira’s voice inside ohno’s room. He crept ever hearing ohno’s voice as well. He can hear her giggling. Talking softly to ohno. He frowned hurt and went away to use the restroom.
In ohno’s room, they sat on the ground facing eachother. Akira wanted to tell him something. She told him she was very happy that he was giving them a chance to be together. Ohno smiled at her happy. He never go to know akira this close before. It was something fresh for him. “eeehh honto?” he said quietly again. “did you really like him?” he said smiling. akira giggled. And nodded. “but that was back in korea. I felt bad though. But one of his bandmates came to japan and said that he was doing fine without me.” ohno frowned. “seungri-san?” he asked.
Akira nodded. “oh you met him?” “yes when I was having lunch with mizumi. He appeared and she left with him.” she nodded again. “ohhh…yeah. that was him. did mizumi tell you they sorta had a relationship too? Well all the girls did. Even manager-san.” She giggled again. ohno who had no idea replied shocked. “no..i didn’t know…she didn’t tell me anything.” He frowned at the fact that she never told him that she and seungri had a relationship. Akira covered her mouth realizing what she just said. She forgot that the guys didn’t know about their relationshiop with the Big Bang members. “gomen ne…please don’t be mad!” she said clutching onto his hands. “the other guys didn’t know either huh?” akira shook her head frantically. “we thought it was better off if you didn’t now.” She wince when she saw his face. “ohchan I’m really sorry…” she felt terrible. All the other girls could be in big trouble for keeping such a secret.
Ohno saw her guilty face. He was pissed off but it couldn’t be helped. He decided to pull akira close to him petting her hair. Akira lied in his arms looking up at him. “you’re not mad?” she asked. Ohno didn’t say anything. He sighed and spoke. “I am, but I can’t help it now can i? I won’t say anything because I know you girls decided on this as a professional group. i just hope the other girls will tell the other guys as soon as possible.” He smelled her hair. It was fruity. He tightened his hold on akira for what it seemed like forever. Akira relaxed in his arms feeling relieved. But she also wondered what he was thinking about. Was he thinking about mizumi? She suddenly felt a p
ang in her heart.
‘After all this time it’s still mizumi.’ She thought. But she didn’t know for sure. Ohno was always the introverted type. She broke the hug. “ne…what are you thinking about?” her tone became serious. Ohno blinked a few times. “eh..” he smiled. “nothing. I was thinking how nice it was to be here with you.” Akira bit her lips…”are you sure it’s not mizumi you were thinking about? You were pretty upset when you didn’t know about her and seungri.” She started to bite her lower lips again.
“stop biting your lips like that.” said ohno pulling out her bottom lips with his thumb as he held her chin. He closed in to her face. “it’s distracting. That’s one thing about you akira. you bite your lower lips a lot. I don’t know why nino didn’t see that as something sexy.” He smirked at her. Akira felt heat rushing to her cheeks. She grabbed one of ohno’s pillows nearby and flung it at him giggling.
Mika and mizumi ate their dinner. It was quiet for the first 15 minutes, but they finally held a conversation. “I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable tonight.” He said to her in a apologetic tone. Mizumi smiled. “it’s fine. It’s just..this is the first a guy has ever done something like this when we were not even a couple yet.” She continued eating and drank her wine. “this place is beautiful.” She looked out to the landscape to her right. They got a window seat in a private room. The restaurant place was very luxurious. “how are you able to afford such a place?” she said whispering to him.
Mika surprised by the question carefully said his answer. “i…I asked for some money from the other members…” he said quietly drowning the rest of the sentence out in drinking his wine. Mizumi smiled and laughed for a good 1 minute. She was so amused by how he was able to gather the money. “and I suppose you owe them money now?” she said giggling. Mika scratched his head. “eeehh…yeah…” he said making a painful face. “baaka..” she said eating. “a less extravagant place would be great too. You didn’t have to go all out.”
“but I wanted to!” he said raising his voice but suddenly recomposed himself. “I mean…what I really wanted to say is that…the other day, when we were talking on the phone, i was wondering if the guy that brought you flowers was your…” he looked at his plate of food not wanting to meet her eyes.
Mizumi smiled again. “sho-kun? That baka?” she laughed. “no no. he’s just a friend. Truly a friend. Noriko was out of town, and he was lonely. That’s why he bothered me.” mika continued “and…seungri..i saw you and him hugging at the park…” mizumi frowned. “boy I think you truly are the jealous type.” Mika chuckled embarrassedly. Mizumi giggled. “no. remember when I told you about our past on the train? We were just making it clear that we should just stay friends and partners in the near future. That’s all.” She said reassuringly.
Mika nodded understanding the predicaments he came to misunderstand. Mizumi giggled. “ you’re so…” she smiled again looking at him just staring at her and then back at her plate of almost finished food. “why did you follow me home that night?” she asked him. mika smiled. “because I heard you sing. It was beautiful. I was hoping you would sing more if I followed you. But I guess I couldn’t.” she smiled wide. She only knew him for a short while, but she already liked him more and more. “singing is still my passion after I left niji. In fact I’m writing one of Niji’s song for a future album if possible.”
Mika curled his hands together placing them under his chin to listen more intensively. “really? Are you done with it?” mizumi shook her head. “I’m half way done. But so far, I love it. I know the girls will too. After all, I am one of their original song writers.” “ can I hear a little bit?” he asked her. she laughed. “oh no..you don’t want to hear it. the girls still haven’t heard it. I don’t even know if it’s good according to them.” mika spoke. “if it’s good to you, it’s good to me. now can I hear a bit?” he said turning his head to the side waiting. “fine.” She said losing to that face of his. he was incredibly handsome now for some reason.
She prepared herself. “ I already have a title for this song too. It’s called Tegami.” Arigatou, kokoro kara ieru yo ima yatto kitsuketa soba ni ite zutto tsutsunde kureta anata. Mika clapped blown away at her singing. He laughed. “you’re amazing! Even better live!” mizumi sat back down glad it was a private room. If there was people around, surely people would have known who she was.” “I…have my reasons.” She said quietly. She then looked at him staring into his eyes to see as if something was there. “hmm?” he said questioning her. she smiled and shook her head. “I was just thinking about your confession to me in the car.” “I know this is fast. Very fast in my opinion. But..” she bit her bottom lips for a bit. “I…I like you too…” she said very quickly.
Mika blown away for a moment then suddenly got up walking back and forth not knowing what to do. Mizumi watched him and laughed. “are you okay?” she said to him. he stopped and looked at her. “ah..no…i..i just didn’t expect you to answer me so suddenly…it’s just…I’m so happy I don’t know what to do..ahh..” he sat down again to find mizumi giggling. “you are certainly an adorable one.” She said happily.
Ohno drove the girls home. they were all knocked out after the small party. Even thought it was colder than usual, swimming still felt nice. As he pulled up slowly to the apartment condo, he saw mizumi and mika in the distance. this time, both of their hands were holding each other’s. mizumi was facing him. he can see the smile on her face. It was a long while since he had seen such a face.
