WHen You Believe

-Note: I just listened to David Archuleta actually sing for the first time. I think... as much as I do love David Cook(really the only other latest American Idol contestant I'd heard), I would have picked David Archuleta if I watched American Idol. After listening to the studio versions of 'Think of Me' and 'When You Believe' (a personal favorite of mine, and possibly a bias) I really took to him.

-Work: One of the reasons I like working at Display and Costume is that it's a very casual workplace. Everybody there is really nice, the boss is a great guy and generally easy to talk to about anything, and it's a very casual, relaxed setting. Lately they've been changing that. Often times if I'm the only cashier up at the registers and there are no customers, I might grab some paper from the backroom and start a story, or lately I've been practicing kanji. Within the last few months we cashiers have received several emails telling us not to write or draw at the registers(some of the other cashiers draw a lot)because we're ignoring the customers. Which is not the case, but whatever. So I cutback. But I still do sometimes, especially lately, because we're much slower. Bruce and Tiffany, the night managers, know that I do it, they've seen me. Never once have they talked to me about it.

So last night I forgot my kanji book at the register and Bill(the boss) found it this morning and asked to talk to me about it. I thought I was getting in huge trouble. Turns out I wasn't, not really. He just asked me, "What can we do to make you less bored up front?" So I made a few suggestions, told him I liked to be out on the floor so maybe I won't get stuck up at the front by myself so often anymore.

And yesterday a whole slew of emails were sent out to the store about how our dress code is changing. Before we've never really had a dress code. No tank tops and exceedingly short skirts. No open-toed or open-heeled, or excessively high-heeled shoes. Otherwise as long as you're wearing your apron on the floor, you can wear pretty much anything you want. Oh and no hats or excessive jewelry that isn't from the store. Apparently though, the owners haven't appreciated our sense of style or something, because they want us to wear company shirts(which we do have, just not everyone has one. yet)or if we have to wear our own t-shirt, it should be solid colored or a printed design/pattern. No logos. No sayings. Company shirts preferred though. Which is understandable, but a little sudden and seemingly ridiculous. Considering this company has been around for about 45 years and as far as I know, they haven't had anything like this.

I still like working there. so far. But the atmosphere is a lot less casual and relaxed. A lot of people aren't happy working there anymore.

Working Saturday. Have Wednesday off, Paid. Working the Saturday after that(6/14). Overtime ftw! \o/

-Shows: Watched episode 7 of Zettai Kareshi. I have to say that I absolutely loved Night in this episode. He was a real dollface. Soushi's ex is not a bitch, which is always nice. The ending broke my heart though. I hate scenes like that.
About to watch episode 19 of Kamen Rider Kiva. I didn't think this show would be so addicting, but it really is. I'm not the biggest Seto Kouji fan, but Takeda Kouhei definitely. And I really like Megumi. Even though I thought she was annoying at first, she's really grown on me. Kengo's going to be even more adorable I can tell. Nago went bugfuck, but I still like him. I'm still trying to figure him out though. I have my theories. I'm sad that Yuri and Otoya don't get it on. They're adorable. But I'm glad Megumi and Wataru aren't related. I love Jirou. And I love the awesome rivalry between Jirou and Otoya, and if Otoya didn't need to get it on with Yuri so badly I would slash that up and down.
O dear. Episode 19 of KRK. Otoya~ <3 You are fantastic. Seto Kouji, you just won major, major, major frickin points with me. Megumi, don't be stupid like your mother. I expect some IXA action from you. I will forever love Otoya though, holy crap. And Kengo! I am so glad he's back~ He's such a fuckin' sweetheart.
One Piece. I need to start watching again. Richard's been bugging me about it. I've been on episode 58 for about two-three months now.
I started downloading Kamen Rider Den-o and Princess Princess D. I need to catch up on Last Friends too. The last episode I watched was 4.

-Family: Mom's in Puerto Rico until the 10th, which is kinda nice. I have to take the bus home every night, but it's not so bad. At least it's not like 30 degrees outside. Though last night it was pouring down rain.
