I realized, that I do not have merits for skill, neither does any of my work carry any significant meaning.

It's not those things that make you gasp with awe or rethink about the world.

I realized that as much as I'd want to think I am, I'm not an artist. I do not carry the depth of perception, the quirkiness of thoughts, the craftsmanship and genius

You contradict yourself Aimee. XD While it might be true that your works are not awe-inspiring, philosophically moving or religiously awakening, I would like to think of them as your method of trying to express yourself, your mood, or whatever it is you are thinking about.

I can go and try to interpret your drawing now but I fear I might divulge unnecessary info, but yes, I see something in your craft, and plz to be not belittling your talent because not everyone is as blessed as you are right now. <3

I would like to think of them as your method of trying to express yourself, your mood, or whatever it is you are thinking about.

hmmm but maybe not consciously. I honestly just draw whatever comes out. I don't particularly reflect on my feelings when I draw. I just lose myself in it, like a certain kind of escape mechanism. I just start with a line and follow what happens, they usually create themselves.

Hydrangeas. Sounds like a handful, but I will try.

Precisely. XD Artists never really intend to draw or paint portraits just to change the world or move people to do something. It's something that comes out unconsciously, regardless of the creator's mood. <3
