So I just watched Top Gun...
There is something *very* strange about the 80s. At least in the US film industry. And tv. But... seriously, what was going on then? Why couldn't they write dialogue? Or maybe tom cruise was just never a good actor, insane or not.
I mean, the movie has jets in it... so... it's not that bad. but i feel like it would have been better if they'd just done stunts the whole time instead of worrying about silly plot and damp half naked men (seriously like half the time the guys were all 'sweaty' for no reason). This film is clearly an attempt to make action films appeal to chicks. Which is interesting.... since.... I'm in love with Transformers. Clearly, however, guys are not necessary for girls to love action movies. Hot cars, jets, and voices will suffice. And explosions. I think girls like explosions, too - I don't see a gender divide there.
