Is it obvious I've got a thing for TV Shows starting with the letter 'D'? :D
Doctor Who: I have JUST begun to watch this and I'm all Doctor/Rose FEELS! I got into this show because Who fans remind me of HP fans and I wanted to participate in fic ships in this fandom! Now, I've got to avoid all sites/comms that even DARES to blare out spoilers. I'm only three episodes in, and while some of the occurrences seem so ridiculous, I just keep going along for the ride because it's fun and Christopher Eccleston's grin makes ME grin lol. Love that guy and the actress, Billie Piper. She plays Rose really well. Incidentally, Billie Piper reminds me a lot of Emilia Clarke when she plays Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones. Maybe it's the blonde hair???
Desperate Housewives: I used to watch this show occasionally, but now that all of my go-to shows are on hiatus until September, I've decided to revisit it. It's going OK so far. Clumsy/bad-luck Susan and her precocious daughter are my favourites so far.
Devious Maids: this show is hot, funny and engaging, and it's even cooler that one of the stars of Desperate Housewives (Eva Longoria) is the director (creator???) of this show. It's still working out some kinks, but I feel that most of the actors are coming into their characters now. And as a WOC, it's great to see a show whose cast is predominantly comprised of strong, fiesty, Women of Colour - though I hear some Latina folks are displeased that the show is perpetuating a pervasive stereotype about Latina individuals. And while I can see why they feel this way, I don't think this is the directors' intention.
Drop Dead Diva: has been pushed back into October and thank goodness for that. The writers seriously need some time to study their script and rediscover a suitable course for this show because it has definitely gone way OFF-course! They have totally changed the characters of this show and NOT for the better. This show used to be a great example of determination and the power of an awesome girl-friendship. Now it's sank into the dungeons of uber-drama, soap opera-ness, and who-slept-with-who-ness. No, thank you. Do not want.
