Fires and my new toy
The state is on fire! So driving around the Fairfield area I saw all the smoke in the area. There is a fire along the Solano and Napa county line. There was also one along highway 12 near the Budweiser Factory. And the way the wind was blowing I could smell the smoke from the fires in Vacaville. So..fast forward to this evening...after dark. Driving along the freeway I could see the red embers from the solano/napa fire. It looked really cool. Had I of had a good camera with me I would have pulled off and taken pictures. But I didn't so I just looked at it. The smoke coming off the hills with the glowing red. Very sad but very cool. I guess it was started by the dry lightning storm this morning. Right now it is all vegitation and has voluntairy evacuations. It is also at like 750 acres. The news didn't say whether or not it was contained.
In other news...I GOT AN iPOD SHUFFLE!!!! Yes, something to listen to while I jog that doesn't constantly change channels on me. I have this little radio that looks like an iPod Nano. It works pretty well when the battery is brand new. But as the battery gets weaker it changes channels constantly which is annoying. If I keep my hand on the search button I can usually put it right back on the station I was just listening to. But who wants to run holding on to something that's around your neck? So now the the shuffle I can put my tunes on and go. In fact my brother has already helped me load up some and make some play lists. I don't jog on Sundays as I alredy have lots going on....but I am looking forward to jogging on Monday so I can try it out!
