so I've finished Towers of Midnight. here's a few things I'd say in review;
1. Sanderson's version of Mat is a bit on the not-so-enjoyable-but-what-the-heck. I like this part;
"Mat here just married to the Seanchan Empress" - Thom the Tell-Tale
"You WHAT?" - Morraine the WAIT-WHAT?
"It was an accident!" - Mat the Y-U-NO-BELIEVE-ME
"You ACCIDENTALLY married a Seanchan Empress?!" - Morraine the ORLY?
"What?! They have strange customs" - Mat the Oops-I-Accidentally-Married-An-Empress
2. Sanderson, I know you like to to speed things up and get this WoT have an end, but it seems too rushed. Too many short chapters, rushed to the point of one awaited moments (e.g. Tower of Ghenjei) are just too sudden and end too fast. or was it just me who reads too fast?
And to celebrate the nearing end of the epic saga, I'm re-reading from book 3. right at the start of Mat's Grand Adventure as a Unappreciated Hero. I never realized how boring Perrin was before being a Lord. sorry, lad.
