Godly songs? Here's mine.
So recently I came across a post on aramatheydidnt about a ranking of God Songs. As expected from mainstream Jpop, most of them are idols and male vocalists but unfortunately irrelevant to my interest. This slightly offended me but I know I was never the 'normal' fan of Jpop.
Anyhow, I thought I might share my own Top 10 Godly Songs. Complete with downloads. YAY!
1. ABINTRA - Rurutia
Is there any other word in the English vocabulary to describe the powerful emotions this song portrayed other than just plain Godly?
2. Bodaiju - Tsukiko Amano
I would have chosen her first debut song as an indie, Hakoniwa, but this one takes the cake because the PV was awesome. I love that scene where she faced a cliff and her black dress billowed with the sea breeze.
3. Betty - AYA
Humanity weeps when they know AYA is probably never going to return and grace her divine Rock again.
4. Kyoto kara Hakata made - Keiko Fuji
Godtada did not make it to my list of Godly songs. The Flawless One who birthed her, does.
5. Identity - Shiina Ringo
There's so many songs I consider Godly from Shiina but I was to chose one and one I did. I like this song because it's everything I love about Shiina. I like her better when she screams, I meant. Didn't like her that much when she Jazz.
6. no vain - MELL
One word: spiritual. My life became a shade darker when I heard she's releasing her last material. I'm hoping it would be only her last with I'VE and not her last ever.
7. Uzumebi - Akiko Shikata
Even without knowing Japanese or German, I think one can feel the fiery theme of anger of this song. Shikata is magic with her vocal layering and crazy range.
8. Jinsei Bimi Raisan - ALI PROJECT
Rather than Godly, this song is more likely to make me hungry. But Godly just the same.
9. The Creator - Yousei Teikoku
I admit, I hate it when people only know a band because of some animu. I hate it when instead of saying something meaningful to a youtube/tumblr/Last.fm page of Yousei Teikoku, all they say was "[insert animu title here]!". You just can't be a non-animu fan and not be bothered by this. Sometime I just with they would stop promoting for shitty animu and just be a normal band. But then again, their type of Godly music wouldn't do too well without animu.
10. Yume no Sekai - Monkey Majik
They are the only male-fronted band I listened to, so my taste in male-fronted songs may be a bit eh. But I think MoMaji is the best thing that ever happened to me. It didn't do them any justice just to name one Godly songs but I can't freaking upload their entire discography for this list. You should make a difference to your life and include these guys to your listening list and let them inspire you.
