Has anyone out there tried using the Gentle Leader for their dogs?  I've read lots of good things and a few bad things about it.  It seems like every collar/harness/lead has its bad points.  Dottie strains and pulls against a regular collar, and has chewed through 2 regular nylon harnesses (granted they were slightly too large for her, yet the ( Read more... )

My sister uses one of those for Buddha, because he's giant and pulls a lot. It works like a charm. Polly wears a harness. What size is your dog? They make small harnesses. Her new one is a Puppia, and they make them in smaller sizes.

She's almost 6lbs now, but should grow to be between 30 and 40lbs.

i know! i've heard that Puppia harnesses are good for pugs (because of their bulgy eyes), so i'm waiting on her new pink one to get to the house.

I used to swear by it for my dog (75 lbs of sassy pulling power!), but now it's not enough and we have to switch to the prong/pinch collar.

It immediately ended my dog's constant pulling and straining at the leash. I was absolutely amazed, but I'm able to walk her now without killing my back. Worth every penny.
