What is that saying, an author is someone who hates writing more than other people? Yeah. Like that. :p

I’ve cut about 15 of the 45 pages I had on this stupid book, and probably have more or less figured out how to fix the next bit, which will return us to our regularly scheduled whatever, not that there’s been any regularly scheduled writing this ( Read more... )

I hate it too. I hate doing what you are having to do right now. It sucks. I also hate the horrible slog that is the middle of almost any book, which is what I am doing right now. Plod, plod, plod, creep in this petty pace to the last syllable of recorded whatever.

Ugh. The part where it just keeps going on forever and ever and it is never ever going to end even though you've been working on it so long it seems like, for the love of all that is merciful, you should be DONE ALREADY and WHY WON'T IT END. I call that the Novelist's Event Horizon, where the end is always the same distance away no matter how much work I do, until it is finally suddenly over and you've been crushed in a black hole.
