We took the early train into Cork yesterday, rather than the cutting-it-close train, and it turned out it was a damned good thing, because it was standing room only all the way from Cork to Dublin, for those poor bastards who got on closer to the time it left, or at later stations. *Enormous* numbers of people were obviously going to the concert, ( Read more... )

I actually got two books past you in the Dresden Files! But, uh, I haven't read either of Jim's books since they started coming out in hardback, even though I own both Furies and Dead Beat. *shifts her feet*

OTOH, I started Thunderbird Falls, so I'm keeping up on your books! (mostly ;)

Well, as a Loyal Friend I've been buying the Codex Alera books in hardback, although given that I haven't read any Dresden since book 4, I haven't been buying them in hardback. However, to my delight, the Codex books are actually *worth* buying in hardback, so YAY! I just read the second one, and damn, they're good!

*does a little dance*! Yay! You have, um, like 3 weeks to read it before FIREBIRD comes out! 'course, then it's 6 months til the next one, so no rush, I guess. :)

I am not the same kind of Loyal Friend, but I was buying them in hardback to support Jim. But my to-read stack, it is large, and hardbacks don't pack in my backpack nearly as nicely as paperbacks. :)

Given that the only reason I put TB down was because I had to wash GOOP out of my hair (and this pause made me realize I was ready to fall over asleep), I think there is no concern that I will not be done with TB before FD comes out. And since Cardinal Rule is what kick started me writing again, I believe I will be inhaling FD soon as it comes out ( ... )
