Over the weekend, my friend E & I had this big discussion in which she told me I wasn’t squeeing enough about the “No Dominon” Kickstarter campaign. I said I was trying not to drown people in it, which she’d understood, but she still thought I wasn’t squeeing enough. So this morning I shall squee some, and talk about why crowdfunding excites me. :)

I still haven't been paid for my big project of the year :( or I'd have bought in already! Maybe soon...

I've been exploring Kickstarter a bit myself - have you looked at the comics section recently? (I know you blogged about the Womanthology awhile back)

I have to be careful looking through Kickstarter so I odn't spend all my money!

What about a Photo Contest with fans in or near those locations. Or others really. You could take digital submissions and if their picture got picked for the calendar they get a copy of it?

Six hours...?

Hmm. Well depending upon exactly what locations (and how many) you would want to shoot, I bet we could make it happen - assuming there's no local-professional-sports-franchise event starting up or letting out within (or too near) that window. Also, what day will you be passing through? We have a lot of infrastructure reconstruction going on, which effects how quickly one can get around. But we'd be happy to chauffer you around for a whirlwind photo-shoot-excursion. Let us know what locations you'd like to shoot, and we can map out the most efficient route, and have everything set up before you arrive. Would you need any props or equipment? I can't make any guarantees, but we do know a couple of photographers, and so might be able to get ahold of some lighting equipment, etc

No, it's really not practical, not when we've got to be at the gate 2 hours before for international flights and stuff. It'd be too insane. And I think, given that we're traveling with the baby, that we'd probably just better stay at the airport and on the far side of TSA Doom, even though it would be vastly more pleasant to come spend time with you guys. o.O :) Thanks for the offer, anyway!

For some reason I didn't realize - though I guess I should have - that it was the whole famn-damily traveling, and that you would have to take Young Indiana into consideration. I hope he's as good a traveler as his namesake.

Hrm. I tried to up my pledge amount a bit, but the kickstarter/amazon payment thing is totally broken for me. Do you have alternate payment options for the amazon challenged?
