Neil Gaiman posted on Twitter to say “I am sitting in an Indianapolis Starbucks writing a speech in a moleskine notebook. I feel like a lazy writer’s idea of what a writer does.”

This amused me inordinantly. :) I think it’s what people who want to have written think writers do. And people who talk about needing to Feel Their Muse before they can ( Read more... )

Something I've discovered is that once you're firmly entrenched in a career, it can be difficult to imagine how outsiders perceive that field. Greg and I have had numerous conversations about the catering/restaurant business, because he's been in for nearly 20 years and doesn't understand how people could not know to ask certain questions. I've seen this happen with computer geeks, too.

I was up until recently a buyer for a large e-commerce company. Now, I do project management for the team I used to work on.
