Got TRUTHSEEKER turned in fairly early this afternoon, so I went out of the house and had a mad shopping spree wherein I bought:

1 cherry tree
2 planters
3 raspberry/tayberry/black currant bushes (each)
a large bag of compost, and

What kind of cherry tree? Pie cherry cool, if it's a sweet cherry it will probably need a pollinator ...

Sweet cherries are different from pie cherries? Why?

In taste, pie cherries are very tart even when fully ripe. Not as sour as chokecherries, but more tart than most people want for eating. As for the botanical need for pollinators for sweet but not the pie varieties ... who knows! Just they way they evolved ... or more likely, were bred/selected.

Mine are sweet cherries which are supposed to be self-pollinating and which the intarwebs say make good pies. That's good enough for me! :)

Cats and knitting....yes an interesting combination.

My best friend knits and has two cats. One cat goes after the yarn, the other cat actually goes after the knitting needles.
