Informed vs Sane: Fight!

I’ve spent most of the past several years a lot more checked out of the news cycle than I think I should be, because so much of it is toxic or religious wars in politics and I simply have not had the emotional bandwidth to deal with it.

I'm struggling with the same thing. I want to be informed and aware (since sadly, what they want is an ignorant and badly informed populous), but my stress levels are so high, there is only so much news I can take. (Seriously--I just came down with shingles. I blame the election.)

Trying to find a balance, but it is hard.

I've added some SocialFixer filters to my Facebook feed, so I can continue reading it without spending the day depressed. It's my belief that, right now, there really isn't anything going on that requires a reaction. That man isn't President yet. His reported plan for what he's going to do continues to vary on a day by day basis. The time to get upset and react is when the government is actually used to do something awful... and I'm not sure when or even if that will happen.

I sympathize with and share your discomfort.
