The REDEEMER Kickstarter has reached 200 backers and is still climbing! In fact, it’s at 205, actually, and just a whisker under €6k!

It’s got 10 days left (or will by the time most people read this), and I have a dream of reaching 300 backers. It picked up about 25 last Friday alone, so it’s not impossible! But it’s tricky, because reaching ( Read more... )

I would have liked to back at a higher level but the exchange rate of Canadian dollars to Euros frankly sucks right now.

For me, I don't mind seeing the posts. I do it myself for fundraising.

oh, BELIEVE ME, i know about the conversion rate. and the dreadful thing is it's better now (at least for USD) than it's been for a good couple years, or more.

As an author, I always worry that my promo is going to be so annoying that it will turn people off and they will curse at the sight of my name. SIGH.

I never find you annoying, btw. Worse case, I just ignore the things I'm not interested in.

Also, just FYI, I pledged at the ten euros level and it converts to about $12 American, which isn't bad :-)

(Also Tweeted about it, to try and spread the word.)

So many 'yups' here - self-marketing is a weird thing, and it still makes me rub my face when people say 'Oh, wait, you have coloring books?'

I appreciate seeing folks talk about how crowdfunding works. I found out about this via the Dreamwidth Crowdfunding community, and you are encouraged to come promote it on crowdfunding too if you wish. I've boosted the signal on my blog.

Something I've found helpful: identify people who are into crowdfunding per se, both creators and patrons, and network with them. A lot of my readers use me to find new projects. I know several other creators and we routinely promote each other's projects.

Also, crowdfunding runs the Rose & Bay Awards at the beginning of each year, to recognize excellent crowdfunded projects. Yours would be eligible for the 2015 round, so you can tip your audience to that in case anyone wants to nominate it. Everyone's welcome to drop by and nominate projects, then vote on the candidates. It's great publicity for all the nominees.

Oh, thank you for both the signal boost and the link to crowdfunding! I'll be right over! :)

I won a Rose & Bay award a few years ago, actually. I'm still really pleased by that. ♥ And I'll mention REDEEMER as a potential nominee if and when it succeeds! Thank you SO MUCH!

You're welcome! I thought you sounded familiar; I've seen some of your writing around.

*squints* In fact, I'm pretty sure I used to be in the crowdfunding community. I wonder if I accidentally swept it off during some purge sometime. *rejoins, anyway* There. Thanks! And it's okay for me to just go ahead and post there? :)
