On September 30, I’ll be walking in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk
to raise funds to help fight cancer. The Society is the world’s largest voluntary health
organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.
I’d like to enlist your support for this important cause. It’s important because there are more than 785,000 people in the United States and Canada who are fighting blood cancers. Although research is responsible for increasing survival rates for these diseases, the battle is far from over.
Every five minutes, someone in this country is diagnosed with blood cancer. Every
10 minutes, someone dies.
Leukemia is the leading cause of cancer death among children and young adults under the age of 20.
Lymphomas are the most common blood cancers and incidence increases with age.
The myeloma survival rate is only 33 percent. Incidence is nearly double for African- Americans as for all other races.
Please sponsor me. By doing so, we’ll both be helping save lives. You can donate to the cause at my fund raising website here.
Thank you very much for your support.
