So, I find myself suddenly thrust knee-deep in a job search. I must say, I have never jumped into it quite so hardily before, but I assume this is because last time I was still living at my parent's house and my Dad had a job...or at least had only been out of work for a little while.
After finding out on Friday that because of the economy, my internship probably won't turn into a job, I had a minor meltdown...mainly because if I don't find a job, I'll have to move in with my parents, who may or may not be moving to Atlanta, which basically means I may or may not be moving to Atlanta.
Hence why I have thrown myself full-on into job searching. So far I have sent a resume and cover letter to my friend Heather who is sending it to a colleague in her Chicago office (she works in D.C.) and hopefully they will find that they randomly need to hire. I also have plans to send off another resume and cover letter to a job listing for a firm here in Chicago tonight. Other than that I'll be looking at listings online hardcore and even putting some feelers out for jobs in the Atlanta area. I figure at least I know the area and if worse comes to worst, I might be living there anyway.
This week my Dad finds out whether or not he got the job in Atlanta, so we are all keeping our fingers crossed! I never thought I would be excited about my parents probably moving for a job, but at this point, getting a job in Atlanta is better than nothing! And better than a job in Dallas...I don't know what it is I have against Dallas, but I'm just not feeling it.
Tonight I have a lot of TV to catch up on from last week on the DVR...maybe I can knock some of that out while working on the job search...
On a completely different note, I went to RENT on Saturday. IT WAS SO AMAZING! Both Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp were in it (The original Marc and Roger) and for two guys who have been playing the same characters for 13 years, they were so incredibly into it and energetic. The audience just went nuts!
Best part was that we thought our seats were in the balcony, but when we arrived they were orchestra seats...close enough that Kate could read their lips! Honestly, I think I can live off of this kind of happiness for a while...and I intend to.
