REVIEW: Cure Natural Aqua Gel & Lancome Genifique

Aug 20, 2009 23:02

After much hoo-hah, reviews and raves, i finally reminded myself to make use of the Cure Natural Gel samples i secured a few months ago. This product is ranked the number 1 best-seller in Japan and is names 'facial in a bottle' by most reviews. Is it really that good? I just had to try.

It claims to be made with natural ingredients and has no colouring, preservatives, fragrance and alcohol. But it does smell a little clinical and of alcohol to me, though not very strong. Still bearable. The texture is clear and gel-like. Following instructions, i smoothed the product onto dry and cleansed face. Leave it for a few seconds, then begin to massage gently in circular motions for about 1 minute. The gel-like texture will now become like 'eraser bits', gently exfoliating the surface of the skin. Rinse with water after that and follow with your normal routine of toning, serum and moisturizer.

Benefits of Cure as claimed on the pamphlet:
- Made of 90% revitalized hydrogen water and plant extracts of aloe vera, ginko and rosemary.
- Gently and effectively removes dead skin cells without causing stress to the skin.
- Helps regularize skin renewal, promote good skin health and prevent skin problems.
- Allows moisturizer, lotion and serum to more effectively penetrate and be absorbed into the skin for optimum results.
- Suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin.

I felt that the skin on my face is smoother, softer, my pores are also so clean and visibly smaller too! The best thing about this gel is that it doesn't sting, so i don't need to worry about breaking out tomorrow.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel sample packs can be obtained from Fr3b.com and Japalang, it's official website (i got it from there). Each sample pack contains a product brochure and 2 sample sachets. For my whole face, i only used half of a sachet, so it can be kept for the next time. :]

For full retail bottles, Cure is found in selected Watson's stores, for about $32 i think, and at Nishino Pharmacy (Isetan Scotts, Liang Court and Takashimaya).

Prior to my skincare regime (after using Cure), i decided to try out samples for Lancome Genifique Youth Activator. This new innovation from Lancome claims to be another miracle worker, enabling women of any age to have their youth reactivated from their genes. Supple skin, dullness reduced and overall skin improvements can be seen in just 7 days.

I don't believe things can just happen overnight, so i just tried for the heck of it. I love how the sachet is in the shape of the actual bottle! Really cute! A few drops is all you need for the face, but it was rather messy getting the liquid out of the sachet. Almost spilt some! Oh, upon application, the product is instantly absorbed by the skin! It's that light. I can't comment on the effect it has on my skin yet. I'll just have to wait till i finish using all of my samples then. But at $170 per bottle, it better be good!

In other aspects, gotta love the Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing hand gel (sanitizers)! Have to thank foxyseven's uncle for getting these a few months ago from the States. Now i can joyfully finish my Dettol one. Instead of the clinical alcoholic smell that the Dettol hand sanitizers smell of, these BBW PocketBacs smell so yummy; i got Midnight Pomengranate, Sweet Pea, Japanese Cherry Blossom and Nectarine Mint. A classmate of mine tried some on my hands awhile back, and i remember that the scent didn't go away even after a few hand washes! Yummy!

And finally, i guess the only thing that can reverse any form of aging, has got to be having adequate sleep, which is something i haven't been getting. =/ So i have to turn in now! So excited about the Dr Dilemma Benefit workshop i'll be attending with Julz tomorrow! :D Goodnight!
