Are we sure Washington is ready for Chicago-style politics?
Holy crap. Our Illinois governor just got arrested for trying to sell Barack Obama's senate seat.
He also tried to withhold funds to help the Tribune Company (which filed for bankruptcy yesterday) unless editorial board members critical of Blagovich were fired. And the kicker? "Tribune Owner" (Sam Zell) apparently considered doing it.
ETA: I'm a long-time Obama fan. I think he has been smart enough to keep his distance from Blagovich (for the most part anyway). Still, color me unsurprised this was going on.
