painless_j started a Let's spread the love of old fic a few days ago, and I've been racking my brain about which fic to pick. Then it dawned on me on what should be an obvious choice.

Oh, God, "No Happy Memories" is on my short list of fics that leave me totally sobbing at the end. I don't even like Harry/Sirius as a rule, but that fic packs such a punch that I've found myself going back to it over and over.

And I'm totally with you on "Invisible to See" and "Lights Out." I don't think "Invisible to See" is nearly well enough known in current H/D circles, and "Lights Out" is just...gah. Knocks me flat every time.

I hadn't realized Cassie pulled "A Season in Hell" and "After the Flood" off the net, though I suppose it makes sense. I'm glad I saved copies of them when I did.

I didn't realize she pulled them off the Restricted Section until a few weeks ago, and then I tried to do a google search to no avail. All of her NC-17 stuff is gone, including the one D/G fic she wrote .

Ah, man, I hate when authors pull their fics off the net. I'd only been in fandom for a few weeks when one of the first H/D fics I ever read, "Tower with a View," got pulled from the net. (I still think wistfully of that so-very-hot locker room scene. *sigh*) When ivyblossom announced she was pulling Origins off the net a few years ago, I made sure to save each chapter of it on my hard drive. Not long after that, I started making a habit of doing that with other fics I particularly like, just in case. It also makes it easier for me to read them when I'm offline, which is most of the time these days.

But, darn it, I'd forgotten about that D/G fic!

That's a very good policy. I started downloading Shadow of his Wings after mirabellawotr temporarily took it down a month ago after it got linked to a wanky, anti-fanfic board.

I should do that with more of them.

No, the fic is called Written, I believe, and is rated NC-17, so it was never archived on FA. It had been archived on the Restricted Section and Diagon.org

Btw, the link you gave me to other two fics redirects to an advertising site. But thanks for trying!

I didn't explain myself very well.

1) Go to http://www.archive.org/web/web.php

2) Now, enter the link http://diagon.org/library/fic/cassie_siege.html into the search engine

3) A list of dates will pop up. Hit on the various date links until one of them works

I found Written. The waybackengine is often fickle, which is why I usually give the html address to insert into the engine, However, you can try this:
