By some kindness decreed by a diety or other, I managed to get to my hotel in Milwaukee with luggage, despite the fact that said checked luggage arrived on a different flight, different airline. It makes me wonder why I changed flights from a layover in Chicago to one in Minnenoplace. Well, Weather being Weatherlike, it could have been that I'd have not made the connection. Better to be here and without my toothbrush than stranded in Chi. So I say, and at this point, that's all that matters.
So here I am, and apparently the Hosts here didn't activiate their cr. card to allow me to check in w/out using my own card. Fine. What-the-fuck-ever. I have a card. I am not afraid to use it especially when that's all that's stopping me from being horizontal and not in the travel-worn garments I've been in all day. And this can be fixed later.
My room is way too big for one person. It has a microwave and mini fridge, 'net connection (yay and thank yet more gods) and a bed that seems a waste for one person. In fact, it sort of emphasizes that I'm alone. Well. I 'll just pretend like I'm some grand duchess or queen. If only it had a canopy, then I might really believe it. No luck. They go more for the corporate on the road thing. I think they even have a pool. And to my favor, I have not one but two swim suits with me.
I had meant to read the entire way from Phoenix, but I ended up next to a sweet and chatty woman, so we pestered the lady trapped in the window seat with our nattering. I never did catch her name, but it did make the whole traveling alone thing a bit less of a burden.
Tomorrow I do worky church-peopley things, but not until 10:30, so I have the luxury of decompressing with bits and bytes. I will be home on Wednesday, FYI. But lateish
