Post Genesis Thoughts... Wrestlng vacation weekend 1
Well the crazy weekend seems to be winding down...
Wednesday was great after work was done, that is... Picked up Kyle and hung out for a bunch of time bullshitting and finalizing paper work for Genesis. Also went to Roy's to get the DVDs burned. Arrived home to my wife having a few intoxicated friends over who had just finished up in a recording studio doing a tribute to a friend who died in the Station night club fires. The song was good, but the company... not so much.
Thursday was dinner at Mon Kou with a huge gang of friends including Les Thatcher. We had a great meal and then came back to hang out at my house to chat up for a few hours.
Friday was the marathon day known as Genesis IV. We started the day early at the school loading the truck with a huge crew... thanks to you ALL!!! Then breakfast at Bickfords and headed to the West End Community Center. Set up began and it looked fucking amazing! The set-up and production is essentially unmatched by anything that has been put up here by an indy. I was very proud! Overall the show was pretty good. The draw was somewhere near 200 people, including some comps. The hall looked good and ringside area was full as were the bleachers for the most part. Some matches were not as good as I had hoped and others were surprisingly better. Due to time constraints, Ebony and I went pretty short, which was fine seeing as I dislocated a finger and got a mild concussion. Break down went pretty quick and then we headed to Wes' Ribs for food and then went to the school and unloaded the stuff. Finally I got home and passed out sometime after 3AM.
Saturday was the next day of the wrestling weekend. I was awake and up to Slamtech by 9:45AM for Les' Seminar. In the end, we were very successful drawing 25 people to it, a good turnout. I got to meet some new workers and good guys. The seminar was good and everyone there learned a lot. After that, we ran for lunch and then headed to Framingham for Sheldon Goldberg's NECW show. It was a good time and afterwards we hit the local Pizzaria Unos for grub and "entertainment". I road home with Jose, Claudia and Cockroach. I finally was home somewhere after 2 AM again and passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow.
We cancelled band practice this morning, which was fine by me as I was exhausted and finally woke up around 1:30 PM.
Tonight: Karaoke with some great friends and who knows what else???
