The 12 Step Job finds our team of criminals with a heart trying to help recover monies stolen from a charity by an unethical investment broker. This leads them to a rehab facility that the broker has entered in to hide from those that are after him.
There are many standout moments in this episode. Hardison and Eliot working together is always a highlight, they approach things from such different ways that they are often frustrated and annoyed by each other, watching them try to con their way in posing as lovers is always hilarious. Also any time Hardison gets to use an accent, this time Jamaican.
Whilst the hacker and hitter are searching for the money Nate (Timothy Hutton) and Parker (Beth ) check in as patients in the rehab facility with Sophie (Gina Bellman) working as their therapist. Parker, posing as a kleptomaniac on behaviour enhancing drugs is great, but Nate, an alcoholic who can’t admit it, is mesmerising to watch as he detoxes. His interactions with Sophie, posing as his therapist are amazing. She really cares about him and wants to help him come to the root of his drinking problem; Nate however doesn’t want to admit that he does so he is beligerant as he goes through some terrible moments, like when he hallucinates Sterling (guest star Mark A Sheppard) in his room. These are moments when Timothy Hutton shows why he is an academy award winner.
Whilst not the best episode in terms of plot, the acting by Timothy Hutton alone is worth watching and the reason I am giving it..

Eliot: Any patterns with his movements?
Hardison: Does that look like a pattern to you?
Parker: It’s like Billy from the family circus, if Billy were a drunken sex fiend.
