How to fit 4 Scruffy Musicians into your car and feed them Pizza.

Garage Voice was in town again. They planned on staying Friday nite, when they played at the coffee shop, but long story short...that didn't work out. Bruce called when they had nearly made it to town and we talked about them coming by in the early evening. Chels & I ran out to get Pizza. Bruce called as we were putting pizza in oven. "We're at the coffee shop." I say "Would you like me to bring you pizza? We could have a picnic outside my car?" In his cute lil accent, he says "that'd be wonderful."

We loaded up the pizza and some Squirt (I didn't know what they'd like to drink...ends up that's their fave!) When we got there, they said "Let's all just get into your car!" Oooooh-kay! We managed, squished and all and they feasted on cheese pizza and Squirt. Later, when a sleepy Patrick was unsuccessfully trying to sketch me, he said "Having pizza in your car was one of the COOLEST things we've done so far on tour." I was tickled.

While in the car, they asked if they could stay at our place Sunday nite and with another musican friend of theirs, Karli. I said "my floor is your floor!"

They arrived late...past midnite....and I walked out to wave them in, while Bruce and I chatted on our cell phones. As soon as all sleeping bags and luggage were trugged up the steps, and everyone collapsed wherever they could find...immediately the boys asked "Are you still going to read us a story?" I said..."sure! What do you want to hear?" Bruce and Patrick smiled big "I HAVE BEEF LIPS!" So, out came the book introduced to me by Kit and Lily " Squids will be Squids." It so awesome!

Oh, while in the car...they had me tell them the WHOLE story about Michael even "The Proposal!" Then later in the night, they dedicated a song to us! :D

This morning, Tommy was still so tired, he layed on the floor...I brushed his hair aside. "Mo...my hair is a mess..." he whined. I said "Next time, plan more time...I can fix that!"

They are SOOOO sweet. I made them a big picnic lunch again before they hit the road and we stood outside their van in a tight circle and had prayer before they left.

I miss them already! Good thing I'll get to hear them play Saturday nite!

TOMMY and his beautiful guitar!

BRUCE, who reminds us of Harry Potter (complete with accent!)

PATRICK, whom I just want to carry around in my pocket all day!

"ACTUALLY" was the song dedicated to Michael and Me!

THIS SONG...is so freakin' amazing. Blows you away.
