NIghtmares are back....

Chelsea had to wake me up...I was screaming/talking.

In the dream, I was in Napa Valley. It was beautiful. I was driving thru with a car load of friends and my teen friends. (Maybe it was a van..seemed like a whole lotta people there!)

We drove up into the hills, winding roads, trees and rock....there was a sense of comfort in the beauty.

We were then somehow near the coast...but it was so different. High cliffs...rock down to where a beach must have been, but it was now stormy and dangerously high tide.

I was walking alongside the house where we were staying. The side facing this angry body of water. The rocks were slippery and I knew I had to get out of there. I remember thinking "Why isn't this fenced off...there are no warning signs, either!"

With me was a golden retriever. He stayed by my side for a while then ran down to the lowest area of rock he could. He barked out to the waves. The waves began to grow and I watched as his fur got more and more wet as the spray became heavier, stronger. I yelled at him to come back, but he just sat there, barking and barking...not wanting to hear me, not turning to me at all. I so badly wanted to go to him, to grab him by the collar and pull him back to safety. It was then that I heard a scream.

The scream was "MOMMY!" It wasn't Chelsea, it wasn't Buddy. I knew that the scream was for me, however. I ran towards the back door of the house...and towards the edge of the deck there that overhung the rocks a bit at its corner. I looked below the deck, because I knew...that's where the sound was from.

She was small....maybe not even two-years old. She had dark ringlets that were up in two pigtails aside her head. She'd come out for me and had slipped on those damned wet rocks. She now clung to a support beam there under the corner, wedged between it and some rock.

She was so beautiful. Soft brown eyes, curly lashes wet with tears. "Mommy...." she softly whimpered.

"I've got you, baby...I've got you." I kept saying as I layed down on the rock and reached for her. I remember trying to wrap my leg around a railing or something. I reached for her.

I knew as I grabbed a hold of her arm and pulled her free that her shoulder had dislocated. She screamed as her little body swung away from the rock. "Hang on to Mommy! Hang on!" I screamd to her. My other hand was reached down her little arm and grabbed hold, near the elbow. I was trying to pull her up to me.

"HELP!!!!" I was screaming...in that dream scream that just barely escapes your vocal chords.

"SOMEBODY!! WE NEED HELP!!!"

I was then outside my body, watching the scene unfold. I ran into the house. I banged against the walls, I yelled, I screamed trying to get the attention of the people inside. "COME ON!! WE NEED HELP! MEN..GET OUT THERE...WE NEED BIG STRONG MEN!!!" I looked at a table with 4 men sitting at it. No one moved.

I saw a girlfriend of mine. "Just keep hanging on..." she advised me. I wanted to scream at her. "Like THAT'S HELPFUL!"

I screamed more for help. "ANYONE??!!! HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLP!"

And then...Chelsea woke me up.
