I know this is weird, but I think I might be a nerd. I think. At least, if you documented my weekend and that's all you knew about me, that's what you'd think.
Thursday: Informed of an "Austin Daze" party, which I should've assumed would be a magazine about pot and smoking it, but I didn't. None of us did. So five clean-cut people (I'll have to say I was the least clean-cut, with messy hair and a rainbow belt) show up for a "social event" which is no more than a big ole' stoner party. This would've been fine, except one of the five people was a guy I've been on about two dates with, and he's pretty much a Christian missionary. Okay, well, he was fine with it. He was the one who pointed it out, actually. "Hey, Jada. Look around. What kind of magazine do you think 'Austin Daze' is?" So I look around. Dreadlocks, raggae band, pot smoke, everyone acting a little different...ohhhh. Anyway, it was cool. We stood in a little circle of geeks and drank our beers before ducking away like high school students at a college party.
Friday: Went to the grocery store to buy pizza stuff with Peter. Got home, made pizza, watched "Three Wishes." Went to IMAX to watch "Man on the Moon" documentary in 3-D. Went home and ate ice cream. Yeah.
Saturday: Went to the UT game (this was the only cool thing I did). My French neighbor, the rocket scientest, came over to learn about music. I taught her things about music. Then she decided to give me a math lesson. Very enriching. I now know how to find a vector using matrices, including a vector that has been re-angled.
Sunday: Went to church and sang in the Sunday school praise band (nerdy, yes). Ate soup with some people from church. They were debating whether curse words could ever be used for something positive or enriching. It was an interesting subject, but, well, nerdy. Then I did laundry.
So if anyone ever thought I was cool, they were wrong. But I don't think anyone did.
