Home?

So, I've been lacking that feeling of being home for quite sometime, maybe even since I graduated high school. Yes, then. Living in Odessa afterward felt like home kinda, but not really because my family wasn't there. Anyway, I think I had that feeling of being at home last night. I'm trying to figure out what happened.

Was it when I put out a cigarette with my bare foot after the cable guy decided the stairway would be a good ashtray? Maybe when I burned my hands pulling near-smoky, burning plastic-smelling clothes out of the drier? Maybe when one of the tenants showed me you only have to put one quarter in the washer on the right, or when I learned the passcode to get into the apartments without a key. Or maybe it was when I called my landlord and told him to bring some sandwiches to the pool for my neighbor and I. Maybe it's that people know my cat when he walks around the complex.

I mean, I know I live in apartments, but it's starting to feel like a familiar place, and I've been really missing that. Anyway, good news.
