If you're tooling about Ohio, a "tourist trap" that I fell in love with was Lehman's Hardware out in Kidron. It's an "Amish hardware store" which means that some of the stuff is useless and overpriced, but I got a DAMN good deal on a mortar and pestle (it was normally $50, 8" and solid marble but I got it for half that). It's all non-electric but there are a lot of things that I found interesting.
Also, Mansfield Reformatory - hubby and I went there on our honeymoon, and it was pretty cool. Cleveland Zoo is one of the better zoos here, and if you haven't been to the home of the World's Master Carver (Warther's Museum)..well, it's pretty neat too. I'm not a train person, but this guy did some fantastic work. My mother knew him, actually - his carving and the knives his family makes are world-famous.
If you DO come up this way, let me know. Hubby knows Amish country pretty well and we could give you more advice. :) (We actually LIVE in Dover, and my mom lives on the street in front of Warther's.)
Canton of course has the Football Hall of Fame, don't know if either of you are into that. We're not sports fans but you can't really avoid it if you live up here. ;) And if you do make it up as far as Cleveland, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is up there (I'm STILL trying to get my hubby to go up there with me..)
