El mucho update:
1) Happy Mother's day to all the mamas out there, whether it be kids, cats, dogs, snakes, or anything inbetween.
2) Work: I was upgraded to a larger cube with a view on Friday. Granted, it's only a view of the NKY Convention center, but if I turn just a little to the right, there's a pretty tree line in the distance. I am scarily excited about having a window seat. (This is also probably a consolation prize for the nonexistent promotion I got this year. It's kind of sad that I can be bought off so cheaply.)
3) N and I have brought in a local landscaping company to turn our yard into a private beauty-laden wonder. They're pricey, but I quite like the 2 guys and their ideas. Finalization of the layout for our top 3 points of interest will occur next week.
4) April showers bring May... showers. It's been chilly and rainy here for a few days and will continue to be so for the next few days.
5) May was/is booked with fun stuff to do!
- May 6 was a Derby Day party, wherein we threw in 5 bucks and picked a horse from a hat, and also drank mint juleps and mojitos. And grilled meaty products. And played Katamari Damacy. Well, N did, anyway. I hung out by the fire and talked about weird shit with other drunk people. Woo!
- Last night was a birthday party for Dave, with lots and lots of fun people (a lot of whom I hadn't met before), a euchre game where I got my ass handed to me, a lot of alcohol, another outdoor fire, and more talking about weird shit with drunk people. (Also included: the hangover this morning. Yay for me, though, all I drank was beer and am rapidly recovering today.)
- Then next weekend is a wine tasting and also a graduation party, which leaves me and N wondering on the best way to double up, as we agreed to the tasting before knowing about the graduation party, and I am a huge fan of helping graduated people celebrate (also on that line, CONGRATS to Lisa who got her Master's just yesterday!).
- AND THEN on the 28th, mzollo77 and her dashing husband will be in town, and we will all be headed to a housewarming/bday party on that Sunday.
6) Existentialism plods along. I admit I'm a little concerned about how I'm ultimately going to do in the class, as the material is still pretty hard for me. But, I *am* enjoying the learning process, and the professor has, on the whole, been pretty good about condensing down Sartre into something manageable. I have a sneaking suspicion too that he might grade more kindly for the folk who a) consistently show up and b) ask questions that at least indicate they're paying attention.
7) The Singulair seems to be doing it's job, in that I'm waking myself (and N) up less and less with coughing fits. I'm also staying really hydrated and often running the humidifier at night to make sure that if I *am* going to have a coughing fit, it's at least, um, productive.
8) I have a girly doctor appointment next week. At this time I'm going to talk to my doctor about how to proceed with a tubal ligation next year.
That's all I got. Now I'm going to sit here with my sparkling water and the kitty on my lap, and faff about on teh intarweb until it's time to take my post-drinking nap :)
