Ursula - home theme

Name:Gwen (lost_laputian)
And you were stamped as: Ursula
Do you agree with the stamp you received?: You'd better believe I do! Ursula's the best.
About your current home:
Where are you from?: I like to pretend it's Laputa. Or Europe (like LONDON, especially) But I'm from the mid-California coast.
Look out of the nearest window, what do you see?: A garden... rain's falling down on it... old autumn leaves are scattered everywhere... so are scraps from the Christmas tree... there are blue jays and robins and a salamander. There are so many hills beyond the backyard and there are swollen gray and white clouds floating around them. I wonder what's behind those clouds.
How would you describe the town/city you live in to other people?: It's a place lost to the slow dance of time, but it still retains its art and its history; it's a fascinating and entertaining place with music and culture everywhere. There are antique shops on every corner, great places to eat, art galleries, concert venues, and lots of parks with beautiful trees.
Do you like living there? Why/why not?: Of course I do! It's practically the town of my dreams. There's always so much to do and so many things to say about it, and when it rains around Christmastime it smells so divine. In the spring, too - flowers in bloom everywhere, rain on the streets, a slight hint of cow manure (ew)... you know. It's really lovely. I feel like I really belong here, and always can. Everyone's just so friendly to you, even if you're a newbie.

This or that:

Crowded or peaceful?: My town? Peaceful. Close enough to the countryside to be relaxing and beautiful, but also close enough to a big city to be a bit bustling from time to time.
Hot or cold temperature?: It alternates depending on the season. This winter has been particularly cold so far, however. But summers are sweltering. Spring is the perfect season around here.
Laid back or worrying?: Laid back. Everyone's pleasant and creative and free.
Impulsive or restrained?: Hm... I wouldn't say either one; they both seem kinda severe for my town. I mean, it's not super-conservative, always obey the rules sort of thing... but it's not insanely impulsive, all-over-the-place either.
Imaginative or mundane: Imaginative, creative, artsy... everything. There's not a boring aspect about it at all.
Light or dark: Uhh. Pastel.
Introverted or extroverted: Pretty extroverted! Musicians on every corner, colorful clothes... the works.
Questions, questions, questions:
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you like to live?: Laputa.
Is nature something you care about deeply?: Yes, it certainly is. But I don't mind being in a big city, either, like London or Paris or San Francisco. And I mean, I'd protect nature if I had the energy to; it's a fantastic but rare thing now that we're plowing over all of it. People really forget how beautiful it can be.
Where do you go when you want to think?: There's a hiking trail up the road from my house that goes over tons of hills and through the woods, and it's especially lovely in the rainy season.
Do you enjoy being alone, or do you need people around you?: I don't mind being alone and in the quiet; like, out in a cabin deep in the woods or something (it's really nice, actually). But I love being with my friends, and being at school, because there's such a huge energy you get from people like yourself.
Is there a place you'd never want to live in?: Haha, probably a place that's really gray and smoggy and industrialized and far away from culture/nature.
Are you okay with living in the same place forever?: Eh, not really. I like to move around from time to time, but not, like, to a degree bordering on restlessness. I think we all need to explore, to not settle for just one place - but if there's one place I really love, I'll always come back.

Is there anything else you'd like to add while you're at it?: Europe is cool.
