The Other Parts

Despite spending the entire boat race (which occurred half an hour after I’d encountered Reita in the bathroom) staring at the bassist, inwardly cursing the tiny vocalist who stood talking with him, my resolve to stay as far away as possible hadn’t waned. Of course, this was an easy thing to accomplish when all he was doing was standing there-I’m sure if he’d been competing, using those muscles of his… I might have gave up and jumped in to his boat with him.

The boat race had turned out oddly. I’d been positive we would win when all the competitors lined up, but out of nowhere Toshiya managed to trip while jumping in to the boat, making us end up in second to last place. Last place went to Hiroto and Shou of alicenine. after Shou managed to fall out of the boat, so it wasn’t like Dir en grey was completely humiliated.

I wasn’t quite sure who won (after we screwed up I sort of lost interest), but I did observe some interesting occurrences farther down the dock where Reita, Ruki and Kai were standing. Apparently Reita and Ruki had a close relationship. They were very physical with each other and I had to hold myself back from running down there and separating them, but I’d managed to convince myself that their relationship was purely platonic. Reita was interested in me only, right? He got offended when I mentioned my non-commitment to relationships, so there was no way he’d be banging Ruki on the side.

No way.

It’s not like you’re banging him either, idiot.

I twitched.

After the race was over I wandered off, content to escape the very crowded docks and annoyingly chatty people. Shinya tagged along with me and we ended up at the beach, happily building a sandcastle together (I didn’t want to at first, but he managed to convince me and I realized I missed spending time with him). He told me all about the ups and downs of his new dog, Yachiru. Miyu had sadly passed away a year or so back, and while it had taken a long time for Shinya to get over the loss, I thought he’d picked himself up quite well.

“You know, I’m not really sure this looks like a castle.” I muttered, bending my head to the side to get a better view at a different angle. “It looks like a prison on this side.”

“A prison?” Shinya repeated, amusement in his voice. He took a closer look, frowning a little. “Maybe it’s because you added bars in the windows, Kyo.” He rolled his eyes and swished his finger across, destroying my masterpiece.

I over exaggerated my next gasp, placing a hand to my mouth. “Shinya, you’re so cruel!”

He laughed and we continued on like this for the next hour, finally deciding to pack up and leave when a wave flooded the north end of our castle. I parted ways with him at our campsite, where he said he was heading to the bathroom. I crawled in to our tent, fell down on my sleeping bag, and promptly fell asleep.

“Kyo? Are you awake? It’s time for dinner!”

I opened my eyes and came face to face with Kaoru hovering above me, who jumped a little and stood back as I sat up, rubbing my eyes. “It’s six already?”

“Yeah, Toshiya told me you’ve only been sleeping for two hours, so don’t complain. Let’s go.”

We started walking in the general direction of the restaurant, and I asked, “How does Toshiya know how long I’ve been asleep for?”

Kaoru frowned as he glanced at me. “He was in the tent listening to music when you came in, apparently. Hey-“ He stopped walking and grabbed my shoulder, turning me around so my back was to him. I opened my mouth to ask him what the fuck he was doing but he spoke first. “Your back is so red, Kyo. That’s going to hurt tomorrow.”

I made a face and tried to catch a glimpse, seeing a bit of red on my shoulders. “I’ll be fine.”

Kaoru shrugged but said nothing more as we continued, finally arriving at the restaurant which was bustling with musicians and staff alike, all looking for a free table to sit at. “Jesus, are we all so lazy that we can’t cook our own food?” I muttered to myself, raising a hand to wave to Shinya, letting him know we were there. Him, Die and Toshiya had secured a table for the five of us and I was glad. It was in the corner, which was a plus.

As soon as Kaoru and I had ordered and received our food, we made our way back there, claiming our spots and digging in to our burgers with hungry sighs. “Toshiya doesn’t think Uruha’s hot,” Die said through a mouthful of food, causing me to cringe. “I think he’s crazy.”

“He’s not!” Toshiya argued. “He’s too girly, to be honest.”

“Oh please, look who’s talking.”

“Wait, wait. Die, you’re gay too?” Kaoru asked after taking a sip of his drink.

Die grinned. “Bisexual, man. Bisexual.”

Kaoru stared at him for a moment before mumbling, “Am I the only one who’s straight?”

Toshiya shook his head. “No, I’m straight. Shinya is too.” The drummer nodded and Kaoru frowned.

“But you were just debating whether or not Uruha was hot!”

“So?” Toshiya said, stuffing a fry in to his mouth. “I’m open-minded.”

“I’m not saying I’m not open-minded!” Kaoru said, defending himself lest we get the wrong idea. “I just don’t think being open-minded means deciding whether everybody’s hot or not, you know? I think that’s just shallow.”

“Kyo-san!” A voice interrupted our conversation and I turned around, glad for the escape. The conversation was turning rather uncomfortable for me, who’d spent every waking hour thinking about how so fucking gorgeous Reita was. (Am I shallow?)

“Kyo, please.” I said before I even knew who was speaking. The formalities were getting on my nerves. As soon as I recognized who it was, I sighed. “Never mind. You can call me Kyo-sama.”

Miyavi glared at me and sat down at the table next to ours. He started to unwrap his burger, sending me a look. “I was wondering when I’d be able to get that memory card you owe me.”

I yawned. “Why, so you can film me again?”

“No,” Miyavi answered, continuing on even as several more people sat down beside him. I froze up, but nobody seemed to notice. “I wanted to take pictures, like normal people. They sell them here for thirty dollars. So… please?”

I glared. “And you can’t spare thirty bucks of your own money?” Sighing, I shrugged my shoulders. “Whatever. Here.” I pulled out the money and handed it to him.

“Thank you.” He said, turning back to his companions, but I didn’t fail to notice the half smirk he sent my way.

Fucker.

Die was staring rudely at Uruha, jaw dropped slightly. Of course it had to be all but one member of Gazette who’d sat down with Miyavi (as well as the bassist of alicenine., but that was besides the point). The missing Gazette member happened to be Kai, and at least that was one relief off my shoulders, but it just so happened the person sitting directly behind me was Reita, who was obviously avoiding my gaze.

“Die, learn some manners.” Toshiya muttered, rolling his eyes. Die ignored him instead to start up a conversation.

“You play guitar?” He asked, earning a nod from Uruha, who looked confused as to the sudden question. I laughed.

“You and Die have something in common then. It must be true love.” I said, throwing Uruha an amused glance.

“I’m going to kick your ass.” Die said, glaring at me. I just shook my head and finished my burger as the conversation went on, surprisingly more normal than the beginning (hey, Die wasn’t the smoothest talker).

I had no intentions of leaving the table so long as I could practically feel Reita behind me. We were both leaning back in our seats, whether he was doing it on purpose or not I don’t know but I definitely was, and once in a while I would stretch my back so that our heads touched. I’d never felt like such a kid, but it was all worth it when Reita reached back to scratched his neck, instead brushing his fingers over the skin of my own, sending a shiver down my back.

What a tease.

After the second time he’d did this I stood up awkwardly, announcing that I was going to the bathroom. Hoping he’d take the hint, I held my breath as I waited against the cold wall, standing beside the door. This bathroom was much cleaner than the one Reita had attacked me in earlier, and I was thankful for that.

Somehow I resisted the urge to shove my hand in to my pants, but I didn’t have to worry about that for too long because a few minutes later the door opened again. I flicked my eyes to the side to make sure it was Reita, which it was, and then promptly grabbed hold of his shirt, slamming him against the wall. I smashed our lips together without a second thought, the small click of the bathroom door shutting completely forgotten.

I won’t lie, I felt like a pretty sick bastard when I unconsciously starting thrusting my hips against his, but it wasn’t like he was against it; his cock was pressing hard against the skin just below my stomach.

My hand found it’s way in to his hair and I had to smirk when his arms slid around my waist, pulling me closer. Gasping for breath, we ended the kiss but stayed where we were, content to feel, practically taste each other’s arousal.

“Let’s fuck in one of the stalls.”

Yes, I really said that.

No, I don’t know what the hell I was thinking.

He gave me a look that clearly said he thought I was insane, and I stuttered. “I-I mean, no. Let’s just… let’s just…”

No, really, what are we supposed to do now? What do you do in situations like these?

“Let’s go back to my campsite. If we hurry we can beat everybody else back and I can put some calamine lotion on your sunburn.” Reita said it almost without thinking and I nodded, reluctantly removing myself from him.

We skillfully exited the restroom without bringing attention to ourselves, and I had to smile when Reita let out a dorky laugh as we finally got outside. I shook my head and slid my hand in to is, and as retarded as it sounds, I had a new spring in my step as we began the walk.

Of course, I didn’t know we were being watched.
