Hey, what are the odds that I'd have yet another non-music related post? But here it is!
I made up for Thursday's awful night of bowling tonight. Thursday was the final week of the Nikkei Mixed Fours league where you bowl for cash prizes based on your handicapped score. I didn't even come close to hitting my average for any of the three games. I bowled games of 138, 157, and 145 for a series score of 440. I think my average for that league was 162. How sad -- I don't even want to think about that.
I came back with a vengeance tonight in my Tri City Nisei league with a 628 series! Yay! Many rarities took place for me tonight...
- This was my first 600 series ever!
- For only the second time ever, I bowled two 200 games in the same night. My scores were 232, 218, and 178.
- I actually won a high handicap game pot for the first game with a handicap score of 272.
- I had two clean games (no open frames) in one night for the first time ever.
I usually get maybe one clean game once a season, so tonight was definitely different. I had 28 straight marks -- my first open frame came in the 9th frame in the third game.
Next week is the last week of the season for Tri City, and since my team won the first half, we are bowling for the league championship next week. I just hope I don't go back to my old ways and bowl a 440 when it really counts!
(BTW, I'll be at the Rush concert in Concord on May 4, so the non-music post streak will likely end here...) :-)
