When they make HP7 a movie, I think they should split it in two. The first half stretches to the point when the trio destroys the locket horcrux. I thought it was such a triumphant moment, considering how shitty their quest had been up to that point.
The King's Cross chapter kinda reminded me of End of Evangelion. Do we really have to go into Shinj-- I mean, Harry's mind, just so we can understand what the heck just happened? I hate those psycho-trips. On the other hand, it also reminded me of the Star Trek TNG episode "Tapestry" when Picard almost died and, in a bright, white room, meets Q, who claims to be God:
Picard (laughs) You are not God!
Q Blasphemy! Be glad that I don't smite you... or something.
One of my favorite moments is when Kreacher rallies all the Hogwarts house elves to mount an attack against the Death Eaters. The image of two-foot tall creatures with flappy ears and hobo clothes brandishing kitchen knives, utensils and, uh, giant spatulas (Ranma!) is just so darn funny.
Anyway, I thought HP7 was a very enjoyable book, and the most genuinely quest-ish of the entire HP7 series. I also think it is the most detailed in terms of world building--Goblins experts at armour making, wizards at wandlore, that kind of stuff. The epilogue ending was quite appropriate. I think everyone would have wanted to know if Harry ends up living a normal life afterwards. I'm looking forward to the movie, I already have the escape from Gringotts scene fleshed out in vivid CG detail in my mind! XD
I don't know why, but the following lines keep repeating in my brain: Use magical item - invisibility cloak Sneak attack bitch!!!
