Selamat Hari Raya!
It's a long weekend! Fri- Sunday, Friday being Hari Raya Haji.
We have another long weekend coming up next week for National Day~ We have our flag up (note that it is reversed to face outwards). My plants are looking good despite the hot and raining weather. We had to give back many which couldn't cope with the hot and wet weather on my balcony to my mom, so the remaining ones are really good at tolerating the sun and rain.
烧包 the Maltipoo
We got our furkid yesterday! We named him 烧包 (baked bun) because we wanted a food name. He really looks like a marshmallow gently roasted with his cream and white apricot fur color. I decided not to spam his photos in my facebook, and created an instagram for him.

We're still adjusting to life with him around, and he is also still adjusting to life with us. First thing up.. pee-pad training!
Friends Gathering!
Hidemi and mayu came by on Tuesday to work-from-home together. It was good to catch up since we hadn't met Hidemi since my housewarming last year. We had a nice girls' day while 彼 went out to meet his mom and his mom's friends for Mahjong. They finished their work earlier, so I set up our PS4 for them to play Taiko no Tatsujin, which 彼 and I bought recently as it was having a super good-valued Summer Sale. Now we're tempted to the buy the taiko set lol. It was really fun to have Hidemi and mayu around, and play taiko songs of Ikenai Taiyo, Ginkyohanabi etc, reminiscing our glorious university days when we were all crazy about Japanese pop culture an anime~
Definitely going to do this kind of gatherings more often.

Have to say I coudnt really stand it at first because of the way the characters kept getting stripped whenever the food tastes super good, but I still sat through most of it with 彼, especially when part of the story is held in our favorite place - Hokkaido~
动物世界
Based on the Japanese manga Kaiji, its main lead is one of my fav Chinese actors 李易峰 (I still prefer him in 仙侠古装 than modern dramas though). I realized it was based on Kaiji about 1/4 into the show.. It's not bad, but can't beat Fujiwara Tatsuya's Kaiji trilogy.
Food
彼 and I were introduced to this Mala stall at AMK, and it is really pretty good and spicy. Ordered 大辣 and had my stomach burning through the next day.
Roast duck hor fun, mixed platter of roast duck, char siew and roast pork, cabbage, and char siew rice from Hua Zai Roasted Duck. Pretty good and cheap!
Hidemi introduced us to Omu the Japanese Omurice restaurant when he came over. I ordered grab food. It was pretty good!
Peony Jade lunch buffet. 彼 and I had our wedding here back in 2018 and we always wanted to go back to have a meal there because its food was sooo good back then. Sadly, had to say we were quite disappointed by the food. Quality dropped quite significantly.. the same food didn't look nor taste as good as before. Still I'm glad to revisit where we got married once before Keppel club moves out of the area as the government takes back the land for redevelopment.
