This year we went to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Who knew we would have so much fun! There were a total of 8 this year as two of the ladies were able to drive the 90 minutes from their homes and meet us there. We stayed at the The Brewhouse which is the old Pabst brewing plant. It has been converted into a beautiful hotel. We had two, two-bedroom suites which included a kitchen, a sitting area with large screen TV and two full bathrooms. I highly recommend staying there. Each morning we headed down for our free breakfast provided by the hotel. The only drawbacks were 1) no pool, and 2) you had to valet park your vehicle at a cost of $28 overnight. Not bad when you're splitting the bill 8 ways but definitely something to consider when you're only a couple or a family.
We arrived on Wednesday morning and headed out to buy goodies and liquor. The name of the store was Woodman's and boy was it MASSIVE. It was the size of three Costco warehouses. I've never seen a store so huge. Then we drove to the hotel where we were able to keep our luggage. We walked the Riverwalk and decided to have an early dinner at a pub along the river. It was loads of fun. We headed back to the hotel, checked in and then promptly got down to drinking and catching up with each other.
The rest of our days were spent touring the Papst mansion, the Lakeside Brewerey, the Papst Brewery tour, a cruise along the river, the Public Market area, etc. and walking through downtown Milwaukee to see the neighborhood. We ate dinner at a local fish joint next to the river one night. The last night there we decided to go to an authentic German restaurant and we were not disappointed.
There was no drama to speak of! There usually isn't but when 8 women get together for more than two days, you never know what can happen.
Since I can't upload pictures from Instagram while I'm posting from work, I would suggest you go to my Facebook page (Mickey D'Adamo Beauchamp) to browse through my photos. There are plenty of them and I'd be happy to friend anyone who isn't already on my flist.
I highly recommend visiting Milwaukee as there is lots to do...especially if you like to drink beer!
