Let's get this showboat on the road.
So, I've looked over everyone's opinion and have come to the following conclusions...
It will be a sort of mix between the deadline and no-deadline.
On the 15th of every month, I will post asking who in for the trade. If there are only five or less ppl interested then you will be required to send that number of CDs, if it is more we'll just have a 5 CD trade (same as before). CDs will be due on the 1st of the month, when I will mix 'em up and send 'em out. If perchance, you miss the 15th "post-session" or are a new member and have a really great mix you'd like to share, feel free to just send 5 copies to me whenever and then they will be added to the next swap and sent out on the following first of the month. I'm only putting a deadline so that there is some kind of structure to adhere to, so that there is regular discussion and expectation to trade. I think this will allow those who like to swap every month to do so, and at the same time allow those who just want to send whenever, do so as well. I just ask that if you're sending me something, you post and let me know first, so i can keep my eyes open for it.
As a general rule, we will not have a theme. But, should the populous desire one and a good one is put forth that ppl want to try we'll do it. I'll leave that up to you.
As for the postage, I've tried and tried to look on the Canada Post website and find a clear and easily understandable breakdown of their rates, but to no avail. I've found many complicated and confusing, not to mention long-winded lists and have come to the following decision:
If you live... In Canada... $5 [canadian]
...In the US...$5 [american]
...Elsewhere...the equivalent of 10 American dollars
I think this should cover for the most part my costs and i'll be willing to cover the rest, as payment for being able to hear all the mixes. If it ends up being too much or too little, I may adjust it later.
