This is Pinstar's bonus Halloween
Sim of the Month challenge. A little late, but it turned out longer than I expected. Madison is not a part of the original storyline, so I could jump right in. Also, she lives (?) in Riverview so I wont be bothering you with the premade families this time. :)
Bio: In life Madison dreamt of being an actress in movies. It wasn’t the money, the glory or the fame that drew her to the idea. It was more the thought of pretending to be something you are not and making that your living. Unfortunately, she was not cut out to be an actress of any kind. Completely ignoring her natural talents in data analysis and organization, she threw herself at audition after audition. No amount of training classes, voice lessons and method acting camps could overcome her true nature: she was meant to be an accountant, not an actress. As a result, she was never picked for any more significant a role than an extra in any movie. It was on a movie set where an unfortunate accident with some Pyrotechnics caused her untimely death in a fire.
Being burnt to a crisp did not stop her drive, her zeal to somehow make her mark in movies. She clung to the world as a ghost and continued her quest. Deciding on a new strategy, she decided to listen in on some focus groups held by the movie industry. Outa Focus films LTD was looking to make a new horror flick and wanted to find what the public felt to be scary. The overwhelming response from the focus groups was “Creepy Ghost Children”. This sparked a wild idea in Madison’s brain. If they wanted creepy ghost children for their movies, she would give them creepy ghost children.
With new inspiration in hand, Madison vows to break into movies once and for all, if not as a star, then perhaps as the mother of a star. She feels she must have a wide variety of ghost children in order to maximize her chances of having one become a star.
(This is the first time I play a ghost! There will be a lot of my firsts here. I didn't pay much attention to ghosts at all and I was pleasantly surprised with how they look - their skin is animated! Apart from the way they look, ghosts act just regular sims which is kind of dissapointing.)
Traits: Ambitious, Workaholic, No Sense of Humor, Perfectionist, Frugal
Goal: Have at least 4 ghost children, one of each age (infant, toddler, child, teenager) at one time. Each ghost child must be conceived from a different father.
Restrictions: Can only take part-time careers. Cannot move in any sims into the household, or adopt children. Ghost children born in the house may move out when they are older, but they must be living in the house in order to count as one of the four required to win the challenge. The challenge MUST be played on the “Normal” lifespan setting. Birthday cakes may not be purchased or used.
Madison may not sell paintings, write novels or sell gathered/harvested items (including produce and insects). She feels this would distract her from her ultimate goal.
LTW: Become a Creature-Robot Cross-Breeder
Maddie moves in and gets a job as a Spa Receptionist, hoping she'll meet some stars there. She had stuff in her inventory so it wasn't hard to get her going. Money was really not the major problem in this challenge. Something else was...
My first Sims 3 Welcome Wagon consisted of a married couple and Billy Caspian. Madison loves his movie-director-type hat. Billy thinks Maddie is hot ;) Looks like Billy will be the first baby daddy.
Madison also has some starting skills. (Pinstar shared her as a library sim, rather than a sim bin sim). Here she is, repairing her broken TV. She also had an opportunity to repair Billy's TV. That was cute :)
You know how people are always complaining how hard it is to get the relationship going? Well I finally got it. Never had problems before, but Billy was playing really hard to get. It took several days to get to the first kiss.
They made out on bed and Billy still refused to try for baby. Come on Billy, be a man! Madison may be dead but she is HOT! :)
My first burglar with sunglasses, and the first time the burglar actually got arrested! And by a clumsy lady cop, he he. (She kept tripping over while she inspected the house.) There's an option to set the burglar free. Maddie did just that, and got a slight increase in relationship with the burglar. The lady cop was not amused.
Finally, Billy agrees to do the deed! And there were chimes!
Maddie tries to burn Billy down so they can roam the world together as pretty animated useless creatures.
(Also, orange picture is orange.)
Ghosts puke too.
My first protest! I'm not sure if they're demanding computers or protesting against them. In any case, Riverview looks like it houses a whole bunch of Technophobes.
Maddie leaves work in order to pop. She got 6 days off.
But she keeps on working at home. She was meant to be an accountant indeed.
Back home from hospital. (Billy went too, even though they're not going steady, awwww!). As you can see, THIS IS NOT A GHOST BABY!!! There goes my strategy. Apparently, ghosts only have a chance of having a ghost baby. So, the only strategy here can be popping a baby after baby after baby and hope for the best. But I was too pissed off to apply the strategy just yet. Oh, the baby is called Bruce.
Here's a useless babysitter (and an equally useless dad in the back).
And another useless babysitter.
Bruce grew up all alone. Well, he's kind of a cutie, I guess.
Madison does spend some time with Bruce when she's not working, gardening, fishing, taking care of herself or trying to socialize with that damn burglar.
Finally a good babysitter! Now if only babysitters wouldn't swap everyday. *grumbles*
Bruce spent his toddlerhood doing some toy skilling and watching Romantic Rendezvous. :D No wonder he later became the weird emo kid.
And again he grows up all alone.
At least he can help around the house now. Bruce is a Genius, Charismatic and a Loner.
Maddie finally got over the fact that being a ghost doesn't necessarily means making a ghost baby is easy. I figured that only the ghost children must have different fathers, so Maddie chose the easy option. Or not. It took her two days to lure Billy back in to her bed. (The other option is the burglar, another case of playing hard to get.)
Fast forward 3 days to the labor pains. The burglar happened to be there. He totally lost it at first but since giving birth lasts LONG, he eventually sat down to watch TV while Maddie was screaming like mad. :)
Maddie's face says it all but unfortunately you can't see it. These are non-ghost twin girls, May & Fay. Needless to say, Billy was immediately called for another round of Try For Baby.
Bruce grew up again :) He's soooo cute, but the emo hair and emo facial expression are not helping. Now he can REALLY help around the house.
Oh, FFS! This challenge sucks! This is Eddie, another normal baby. The odds of having 4 ghost babies in 4 different age groups are non-existant! Or am I just stupid?
Is it even possible to try for baby with non-playable ghosts? With that question in mind I sent Maddie to the Graveyard. This is the only male ghost that showed up in several days, but she was to tired/hungry/smelly to establish a relationship.
Really, both Maddie and Bruce are a mess from taking care of two toddlers and a baby. I was never any good at managing multiple children. Maddie hasn't even tried for another baby with Billy, because she (=I) got all pessimistic.
But there will be more babies. Come by tomorrow to find out if Maddie will ever produce a ghost spawn, let alone the required number. For the record, this challenge sucks, but I did play it and ended up with a bunch of pictures, so there you have it. See you tomorrow!
