an illegal exaltation,
a guilt-ridden glorification
to my past.
Praises sung
to blue eyes,
to tanned skin,
to full voice and piercing glances.
Adoration to memories of him,
hoping for a fresh start,
a second beginning.
Hoping for hopefulness.
His arms wrapped tightly,
his skin softly grazing mine,
his lips on my cheek
are tiptoeing the border of
infidelities.
I welcome the limits
with open arms
and a careless shake of my hair.
