The Doctor (ST: Voyager) / Bar-Type Place

Today he's dabbling in the piano. His database can tell him how to play the piano in the most ergonomic way possible. It can't make him very good. Which annoys him. He can sing the most complex arias, and yet can't play a simple etude.

That won't stop him from trying.

Data walks over, curious to observe the Doctor's attempts.

He does not want to interrupt, though, so he does not say anything.

The etude in question is Chopin's fourth. Not a very challenging one, but the Doctor winces at his sixth false note.

And then stops and notices Data. "Hello, Commander."

"Hello, Doctor," Data greets. "I hope you do not mind that I am watching you." The inflection is similar to a question.

"Not at all. A true talent needs to be able to play before an audience." He resumes, a little slower, a little more sure handed.
