He could do that. He doesn't want to but he could. So far all being a hero has got him was a dead girlfriend so why not just...

Trish's dying words come back to haunt him, telling him how proud she was of what he'd become, of what he'd achieved. If he turned now it would be a betrayal of everything she'd care about. He couldn't do that.

Cole seems to have forgotten what that word ever meant.

"Lady, I don't care if it's ungentlemanly, I just wanna know where the hell I am."

The large ball of electricity he was cultivating has dissipated some but electricity still crackles along his forearms and hands.
