Rory Williams - Doctor Who - Barways

Jul 15, 2010 10:03

What is 2,000 years to a bar at the end of the universe where time pauses (or at least, passes really slowly)?

It's all the same here. Means nothing.

Time.

It's an odd thing, that. It's not as solid as he'd always believed, nor as straight-lined. There are loops and hooks, circles sometimes, and wibbly-wobbly bits that don't make any sense to him, no matter how many time-dimension-thing reports he reads.

(Or has read.

Reading scientific discovery reports are sort of impossible in his current time-frame.)

There's a slightly bored-looking man, skinny as a twig and tall, sitting at the bar in Roman dress. He's only got a glass of water for now, and he looks to be opening and closing his hand, each time revealing two little metallic barrels. He's gotten really good at controlling it, rather than allowing it to control him.

And quite right too, after what he'd done.

Most days, he doesn't let it torment him.

(Usually he's too busy to think too much on it.)

But when time isn't moving - or it's hardly moving - it can be difficult not to find himself remembering the last time he'd seen Amy, wishing he could change things and knowing that he can't.

He'll just have to be patient.

He's always been good at that.

[ooc: Basically, there are spoilers for Series 5, for those who haven't had the chance to finish it yet. This post is open indefinitely and is subject to some slowtimes. But I promise to get to all tags as best I can!]
